Stayed here for one night for a night out in the city.

We were disappointed to find that it only has 4 parking spaces when it very clearly says car parking available.

When we brought this to the attention of the bar man/receptionist (he does both) he had a very aggressive attitude towards it, saying they do have car parking and that it's not his fault that it's full!

When we pointed out they should warn that they only have 4 spaces his attitude was "why should we".

He threatened to get the owner who was down in the bar drinking!!

We asked if he would contribute towards the pay & display (which turned out to be only £2) he said certainly NOT!

Other than that the hotel needs a good makeover, the room keys hardly ever work and the breakfast is nothing exciting.

It's a shame as when the owner was younger he was really on the ball, but sadly he's now semi retired and lives abroad most of the year and nobody seems to care anymore.

Girl who does the breakfast was cheerful.

Badly needs a new owner with some passion.

I had t The Highland.o work in Aberdeen for two weeks and stayed in this nice, friendly little hotel. The room was comfortable and reasonably priced, the staff very friendly and everywhere was spotlessly clean. There’s a restaurant and bar in the basement with friendly bar staff and a reasonable selection of drinks. You can have a meal in the restaurant or the bar and the food is decent. Be aware though, that parking is limited, however it’s location is great for the city centre. If you’re looking for a place that’s clean, comfortable, friendly and great value, I can recommend the Highland

Spent a weekend here on a last minute deal. Hotel is situated a 2 minute walk away from Union Street and all the central town facilities. You can also access the bus and railway station within 5 minutes walk. There is very limited parking at this hotel so you have to park at a nearby NCP carpark at £15 a day or the rail one below it at £6 a day.
The rooms are scattered throughout the hotel in a maze of corridors as this is an old building which reflected in the strange noises through the pipes at night in the room. The room we had was clean and spacious with tea-making facilities.
Our shower ran cold most of the time but plenty of hot water through taps.
We ate in the hotel the first night which was nice and relaxed. The bar afterwards was fine giving plenty of sport viewing.
Our breakfasts were fine but unfortunately on Sunday morning a noisy group of people were drinking in the ajoining bar around 9am which spoilt our peace. According to a staff member this does not usually happen.
It is unlikely that we will return to this hotel.

Check in was smooth and easy, we arrived early and we're able to drop bags off until booking in time as room was not ready yet. Rooms are small but clean adequate for an overnight stay but wouldn't want a prolonged stay. Very noisy with people coming up stairs through the night. Didn't have breakfast in the morning so can't comment on food.
Fair price for what you get in the centre of Aberdeen
