We stayed here on 26th July 2015. The house was really lovely, and a quiet area got a good nights sleep, there is everything in the house you need. Its just beside Tullymore Forest, and not far from Newcastle town, thank you Judy we enjoyed our stay.

“Simply couldn't be better”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The Jays is by far the best self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. We've been 3 times now, and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The cleanliness is flawless, and everything is maintained to a very high standard. All the essentials are there, as are a number of things that are just so lovely to have (for example books, board games etc) The location is perfect - Tollymore Forest is 5 minutes walk, and so much else is within very easy reach. There really are no negatives, as far as we are concerned. It's very evident that the owners of The Jays put a lot of thought and effort into making this a great place to stay.

“Excellent home from home”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Tracie Ray Jessica 14 Ben 12 Cerys 3 Callum 21 mths. We stayed here at The Jays for a week and we absolutely loved it. The house was immaculately clean and very spacious. It had everything a family needs including lots of storage space.there was a welcome pack which was much appreciated. The courtyard style garden was beautiful and a little sun trap. We got gorgeous weather the whole week which made our stay even more enjoyable. We will most definitely stay again next year. Ps Judy Thankyou for the lovely scones :-)

“Excellent base for the Mournes”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in The Jays for a week's walking holiday. The location is an excellent base for exploring the Mourne Mountains.

The cottage met our needs perfectly. We need somewhere that is convenient and comfortable without being so luxurious that we daren't bring walking boots inside. Parking was right outside the front door, and there was hanging space for outdoor clothes. The heating and the plumbing, and all of the appliances, worked without fuss, enabling us to make the best use of our time to be out in the hills.

The only room for improvement we might have wished for would be to have a second small television in the kitchen, particularly so that we could catch weather forecasts while preparing food, but having WiFi internet access largely made up for this minor inconvenience.

This is definitely one of the better cottages we have visited over the years.

“Highly recommend this holiday property..the owners think of everything”
Reviewed 27 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I travelled alone from Canada for this trip and spent approx two weeks just prior to Christmas. I could not have made a better choice as to where to stay. Aside from the tremendous scenary that the Mournes and coastline have to offer even in off season, amenities were close and plentiful. Some of the time was spent making day trips to visit friends and family and this location was ideally suited.
Upon arrival, after a long journey, I found the house was exacty as advertised. It was very clean, well furnished with everything required for a home from home. There was milk, tea, coffee supplied, a fire was made with starter wood to spare-Judy put up a Christmas tree for me!.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending a stay here-thanks Judy for helping to make my trip so enjoyable.
