We were in dire need of lodging and were blessed to find Rosie and Pete's location. From their dogs to the geese and the turkey that visited us for breakfast, this is just a one of a kind place.

We had the entire top floor and after a very long day of traveling, could not have asked for better accommodations. Their hospitality was so welcoming, as were the smells of the scones Rosie was baking for a friend!

The beds were heaven and her breakfast and coffee were our favorites during our two weeks in Ireland. What is special about this B&B is Rosie and Pete however, they are lovely people.

If you ask my wife about our trip to Ireland, the first thing she'll recall is this place: Rosie, Peter, and their cute three dogs. We got the back-side mini-apartment room that has a living room with TV, plenty of DVDs and a dining table downstairs, and a bedroom with bathroom attached upstairs. Everything is clean, well organized and very welcoming.
Rosie and Peter are great persons who did everything to make our stay better. Their dogs were our main attractions as they are so cute, so we found ourselves mainly playing with them :)

The place is 10 minutes drive (more or less) from Tullymore forest, which is a wonderful forest to spend a day in (or more than a day, like we did). It is also only one hour from Belfast so it can be a daytrip (not that there is much to see there...).

A great little gem hidden on the edge of Newcastle. Rosie and Peter were great hosts and extremely welcoming. Me, my wife and her cousin stayed here after a days climbing in the Mourne Mountains. The property was lovely and the accommodation could be almost described as a small apartment. It had a large TV and losts of DVD's to choose from and with gorgeous view over the Irish Sea. The breakfast in the dining area was laid out perfectly and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

My Girlfriend and I stayed here a while ago and I had forgotten to leave feedback. We are thinking of visiting Newcastle again in the new year and I looked up the details again.
I highly recommend this place for either a short or long stay. We went during the quiet season and had the whole end of the house to ourselves. This was a lovely a self contained area with lounge, an upstairs area with bedroom and bathroom. . The lounge was beautiful with a massive tv and a large amount of DVD's and CDs. I even found the latest Batman film there which I hadn't seen.
Sleepingwise, the place was very quiet and so I slept like a log. Good news that we had our own area of the house as I do snore quite loudly I'm told, but no one could hear a thing from the other part of the house, which is good if you are a loud sleeper like myself, apparently.
The property is set back from the road, and is raised giving beautiful views to the sea. I would go out in the evening for a cigarette and felt very relaxed.
There is a grand piano in the lobby area, which has a good window so you can look out to sea whilst you play it, if you can play it.
The breakfast is really whatever you want. I had a full Irish and some Croissants with fresh orange juice. We had the whole dining room to ourselves, so just took our time, looking out to sea, and reading.
Lots of parking too for larger vehicles.
Loads more to say about the place. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again.

We have to thank Rosie and Peter. We called at 12.30am after an abortive wild camping experience. (you will be glad to know that our tent was still there the next day, safe and sound) We thought that they were a hotel with a 24 hour reception otherwise we wouldn't have dreamed of disturbing them so late.

Not a bother, they were incredibly welcoming even at 1.30 am when we arrived. Just so you know the driveway is past the picnic site on the Kilkeel side of Newcastle. about the fourth lamppost after they start again.. We slept very well and awoke to a lovely breakfast smell.

We even got an edible flower on our cereal. (Rice Krispies will never seem the same again.) and the fry and coffee was yummy. All to the fantastic sea views too.

We had a lovely chat with them both. If you've never been to the area before and are interested in History, Peter can give you brilliant information.

We stopped off at Dobbies as recommended by Rosie on our way to Lisburn the next day. Yum.

If we are looking for a b&b in this part of Down again we will definitely be back to see Peter and Rosie at a more convenient time for them though :)
