“Home from Home”

Booking was straightforward.
The house was very private and spacious. The bedrooms are a great size with comfortable beds and great décor. The large kitchen and sun room are perfect for family-time together. We loved our time at this property.

The house is an easy walk (about 1 mile) into Ballycastle, although the road does not have a footpath all the way into town and can be quite busy. As a work-around on this, we drove as far as the Bonamargy Friary car-park and walked into town.

The property is a perfect base for all the fabulous things to do around the area. While we were there we experienced the Auld Lammas Fair in Ballycastle, Ballycastle Strand (do go and see the face in the rock), the ruins at Bonamargy Friary (has a handy wee - very wee - car-park that is situated on the edge of Ballycastle town), Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge, Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Shean's Horse Farm and Heritage Centre (this was a brilliant family experience, Danny and family who own and run the farm are fabulous), the Dark Hedges (Game of Thrones), Cushendall and Cushendun and Portrush Strand (don't miss lunch at the Ramore - fabulous food at fabulous prices).
Check out Ballycastle's tourist information office - they were really helpful and full of information.
Ballycastle itself has a choice of pubs serving good food and also fast food take-outs if you don't fancy cooking while at the Swallows. Although the property is well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen to put on a feast!
We will definitely be booking with Maureen again.

“Short-break away - last minute”
Reviewed 13 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We booked the day before we went and Maureen was quick to confirm. The house is ideally located on the edge of Ballycastle, handy for the beach, restaurants etc. The house itself is lovely, great sized rooms, large kitchen and Maureen did some amazing things - like supply some lovely bakery breads, cheeses, ham, milk etc. If you want a great place for a large number of people then book here
