Tucked away behind the main shopping drag is whites tavern. A warm and friendly welcome from Bar staff who cannot do enough to ensure you are well fed and watered! A warm open fire ensures you are toasty on a cold wet Belfast day and the chowder well what can I say? It is tasty, filling, packed with fresh fish which tastes amazing. A full bowl brimming with mussels in shells and accompanied by fresh bread you will find trouble rivalling. This is truly a gem in the centre of Belfast and definitely a must place to visit when here

Kind and courteous bartenders - quick service, amazing selection of whiskey! Bar is small but you’ll find a place to sit. Bathrooms were also very well maintained. Very cool to have a drink in a tavern from 1630.

We enjoyed our visit to Whites tavern and it is a quiet spot tucked off the beaten path. They only serve food until a. Retain hour so if you are hoping to eat be sure to arrive early. Drinks were fairly averagely priced in comparison to other Belfast establishments.

It's signposted and right in the centre near all of the shops. In true treasure trove trail style, blink and you might miss it but make sure ot take that 30second turn into the old walkway it's also Belfast's oldest pub and the atmosphere is incredible. Had a fabulous pint of Guinness whilst in there.....well it would be rude not to

This place is supposed to be Belfast's oldest tavern. I don't know about that, but it is probably Belfast's cosiest. Nice and dark with a fire burning. Always seems to have 80's music playing, which is a positive as far as I am concerned. Good to visit in the summer too as you can sit outside in the courtyard. They do food, which is ok and a film club which I think takes place on a Sunday.
