Starter served whilst the bride&groom where away from the top table, 2 people on our table had their starter taken off them before they had finished(one actually had the spoon in his mouth while they lifted the bowl) they served half of our table with wine and never came back to serve the other half(people who went to bar or restroom, myself included, did ask the young guy serving and im still waiting, dont like 2 beg 4 my drink but im sure the b&g paid and where charged 4 everyone 2 have a glass of wine, but not all got)
had to wait on gravy a good 10 mins after we got out dinner
Pretty sure its common that the room isnt served until the bride and groom r sittin in their seats and served 1st, also the same with clearing off!!
Drink price in function room was a different price for that in main bar(where residents bar is served after 1am) we had been drinkin the same round(2 ppl) all day, £13 in function bar all day and £12.75 in main bar area (this was between 10 and 10.45 we got 2 rounds and where served by 2 different staff members so couldnt b a mistake) Not sure how this is justified as the only difference is waiting longer in the wedding bar (appreciate this as 80/100 guests) no fancy glasses or garnishes, no flare in serving, so cannot justify extra pricing, one person at our table did comment that they had bn drinkin the same round all day and had been paying different prices each time.
Have to day tho, staff who served us where lovely, plenty of staff working, food was very nice, very clean throughout, just service was lacking slightly! Wouldnt put me off going but maybe i just notice these things with working in hospitality.

I would like to refer to your comments in relation to service. We take all comments including negative and positive very seriously with the view to establishing if we need to adjust or amend our procedures and training in relation to our guests overall experience.
You made reference to commencement of service while the Bride and Groom were not seated. We have investigated your comment with our master of ceremonies and can confirm that the Bride and Groom insisted that service commenced while both Bride and Groom took a comfort break. Our master of ceremonies gentleman who looked after the wedding from start to finish is extremely experienced with over 25 years’ experience while serving weddings, conferences and various high profile functions.

Your comment in relation to service of wine has been noted and investigated. We have completed a full investigation in relation to your comment and checked our security systems. We are not in a position to agree with your comment as we feel that your claim is incorrect.
La Mon Hotel has the right to determine our pricing structure within our business which is in line with service that we provide. It is our decision to set prices which is reflected and in comparison to other 4 star hotel property's within the market place.

I am delighted to learn from your review that overall you had a very enjoyable day. You have complemented our food, our staff and general hotel appearance.

We had a great stay for our 10th wedding anniversary. It had to be La Mon as we got married there. We had the spa deal which included a back massage, use of the facilities, meal and bed and breakfast. Lovely comfortable quiet rooms thank you.

We stayed at LaMon for three nights. We wished we could have stayed longer, thats how much we enjoyed it. Rachael in reception was amazing, friendly, helpful, courteous, genuine. The room was clean, smelled good, great bathroom. We were the only people in the restaurant late Sunday night. We had a fun time visiting with staff and good fast service food. I have never seen a swimming pool like they have. It is beautiful, clean changing room and showers. There were safety mats all around perimeter to prevent slip and falls. We took cabs into City Centre and never waited more than five or ten minutes for them to arrive. The cost was 12 pounds per ride. I am mentioning this because LaMon is located in quiet setting outside City Centre,but don't let that deter you from this location. We will definitely stay here again

The hotel is in a quiet place, tho a little bit outlying. However, the scenery is great and the air is SUPER FRESH. The breakfast is okay, given that it comes in a large diversity and the taste is mild, whereas the bacon is a little burnt and too salty. The shower room is fancy and the towels and Kleenex both smells nice. The wifi in room does not have a great reception and you may lose your cell reception here but with this great view outside, you might as well just ignore this. The room is big enough and comes with one bed for two and a bed for one.

What a lovely location to spend a few days, a great 4star hotel.
Highlight for us was the staff and their pleasant and accommodating manner.
From the moment we got to our room everyone was lovely.
The room attendants happily provided us with a robe and slippers and changed our sheet for us with such a wonderful manner, no complaints or no hesitation. Then we needed room service after 10pm and the gentleman was just so nice, we wanted to go down for the sandwiches but he was more than happy to come up with them - he couldn't have been nicer.
Pool was a little cold on our first visit on the Friday evening (even the instructors were wearing wet suits) however it was much warmer on the Saturday.
Wonderful experience, with the most beautiful breakfast and great food.
