“good place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2012

the hotel is in a great location for gettinng around. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. we only ever use the hotels for sleeping and breakfast as we like to do alot of sightseeing. Gary the tour rep has great stories to tell and aranged our taxi back to the airport and we got a good de tour on the way. well worth doing . staff are helpful and breakfast is ok. It does amaze me on somethings some people moan about . For the price you pay for this hotel it was a nice stay. If you want more you will have to pay more

Stay here was a little disappointing. Reception staff were not terribly friendly apart from the lady at the weekend. We weren't told any details about breakfast or how to get access to wi-fi. (This was free in reception area - even B&Bs often provide this free as a matter of course these days) It was all very strange. Any requests were met, but not with much enthusiasm, which was a bit of a shame. The staff at breakfast were good, although if you want porridge be prepared for quite a wait! Room over looked park on the side so was generally quiet with no noise from the road apart from Saturday night when it was noise from inside the hotel that disturbed several times through the night. Do wish that hotels would put groups on the same floor and put single travellers or couples higher up in hotel so that doesn't happen. Have been in one such hotel that specifically told us that they did this and what a difference it made. Was also next to a meeting room which was used early one morning so was woken up very early by the ladies laughing and talking loudly in the morning whilst they set the room up - and that was with earplugs in! The bathroom and room were spotlessly clean, the cleaners do a very good job, all the towels were changed daily. Mattresses we comfy and there was a choice of two different sorts of pillows. If it hadn't have been for the reception staff I might have given this a 4 but afraid that somewhat tainted mine and other people's view of the hotel plus the lack of free wi-fi in rooms which is a shame as it has a lot of good points and some very good staff.

Room Tip: Choose a side room over the park

The location is really pretty good: just a few minutes walk from the very centre of Belfast and close to lots of interesting restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, the central location comes with quite noisy surroundings - closing the windows shuts out the noise, but the lack of AC means that your room may get pretty warm as a result. The lobby area is nice, but the restaurant is basic (no tablecloths, paper napkins, distracted service) particularly at breakfast, which is a bit of a scrum. The hotel offers no room service, so this average-quality restaurant or going out are your only options. The hotel has followed the trend of offering (free) wifi in the lobby only and extortionately expensive wired network access in your room (so forget about connecting your phone, tablet or e-book reader). I'll be looking elsewhere if I'm coming back to Belfast for business in the future.

Excellent location but located on the "main" street into / out of the City Centre so traffic noise at from to hotel can be an issue but have found this with all the conveniently placed hotels in Belfast City Centre.

Would recommend requesting a room at back of hotel in this respect. View not great but a lot quieter.

Rooms are clean and comfortable and buffet breakfast is good.

Good location, off site parking round corner, approx £12 for 24 hrs. Friendly staff, booked me a tour bus and collect from Hotel. Dined in restaurant good value, Breakfast not as good, came down at 9.30 all dried up unappetising. Room lovely overlooking grassed area on side very quite. Try Crown Saloon 75 yds down on opposite side for a beer lovely old Belfast pub, then Robinsons for the craic. Recommend tour bus excellent value.
