This exhibition came up on an app on my phone and I am so glad we found the time to visit. It's not a huge museum, but it still has lots of very interesting artefacts, well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Staff were lovely too, they were happy to answer questions if you had any or just left you alone to browse. It was a great place, can't believe it was free!

If you visit, make sure you leave a nice donation!

This little, free museum, based in the university has 2 floors cram packed with fascinating artifacts, some of the best specimens I've seen. They have put a lot of effort into making this museum fun for all ages with a number of interactive elements and lots of learning techniques. It is also full of enthusiastic volunteer students eager to share their knowledge. The shop is also very good and reasonably priced with small bits for the children for a couple of pound up to more expensive replicas of artifacts and jewelry. They also sell ex library books on related subjects. Visitors park in the car park at the front of the university which is only a short walk to the museum. You can also walk to the beach from the car park by crossing over the bridge and then going through a gap in the bushes. You have to pay for the car park but it is good value for money, especially if you are visiting both the beach and the Egypt center.

Tucked away on campus this is not the easiest of places to find but worth seeking out if you have an interest in Egyptology. Lots of hands on activities with very helpful and keen staff which children loved. An interesting little shop too. Free but you do pay to park in the Uni car park.
