This is a pub with rooms. We had a family (triple) room which was spacious and the beds were very comfortable - we slept like logs although we did close the windows to shut out the noise of a summer evening. As would be expected there is no lift and the stairs are quite steep. The bathroom has a shower over tha bath. The bath itself is obviously not meant to be used as the wall mounted soap dispenser could not be reached even if you stretched hard.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent. The evening food was standard pub grub - everything with chips - well not quite but it felt like that. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were a bit confused by one member of housekeeping though. We were leaving our room for the day and she was cleaning the room next door so we thought it sensible to tell her that our room was vacant. We are not sure if it was our London accents that confused her (she was very Welsh) but she seemed to have difficulty understanding us and asked if we wanted our room cleaned? We were not sure what the normal process was so we said "yes" and it was fully prepared when we returned.More
