Our 1st time eating here. We will be back. Team were friendly and made us feel welcome and at ease. Myself and my partner had sandwiches for lunch which we added a soup to. The soup is probably the best soup that I have ever tasted. It was perfect! We had some amazing cakes also. I recommend this place to all. Thank you!

Waterloo Tea Gardens is still one of the best places in Cardiff to get excellent coffee, even the decaff is richly flavoured, a real treat.
We had lunch - pumpkin soup which was gently spiced with delicious sour dough bread and Welsh Rarebit. Both were mouthwatering.
I just wish the cafe would find a better cake supplier. It used to be the king of cakes, but these days the cakes let it down.

Haven't been here for a while, a few diversions on the way due to roadworks. Well worth it though still a lovely spot to have good coffee and the best selection of cakes, I had the gluten free orange and polenta which was delicious . The spinach one looked even better, but that's next time £5.50 for a coffee and large slice of cake great value.

I have been meaning to visit Waterloo Gardens Teahouse for a while. There was so much variety to choose from and Hatty kindly recommended a delicious cake and perfect tea to accompany it. She could not have been more friendly, kind, welcoming and helpful and set a wonderful atmosphere. Will be visiting again! Than you.

Called in here today for a coffee and sandwich for my wife and I at 13.45 pm. We have been here many times as we like the food and coffee. The place was half empty but we were told that there was a half hour wait for food as they had orders to prepare for afternoon teas. There were plenty of staff on duty at the time and a few tables were reserved. It appears they are more interested in afternoon tea than the lunch time trade. This is the second time this has happened to us and were not prepared to wait. We won't be rushing back as there are plenty of similar establishments in the area who are much more accommodating and prepared to please.
