Great welcome by staff at check in we upgraded to an executive suite which was well worth the extra money. Room was spacious and well stocked. Only one slight disappointment was I had pre arranged to have the room decorated with petals on the bed a cake platter and a card for my wife's birthday which they told us was all done at check in however when we reached the room it had not been done. They quickly rectified it but it was a little dissapointing as I wanted it as a surprise when we first entered the room. The breakfast and staff in the executive lounge was great although the evening before the lounge was very busy and felt a little uncomfortable so we had to go down to the main bar and pay for drinks so we could relax rather than stand in the lounge with the complimentary drinks. All in all a pleasant stay.

Typical Marriott but a great central location. Comfortable room and good bathroom.
Breakfasts always good in Marriotts. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good housekeeping.
Car park very useful but expensive and you have to access it from outside.

Not what I expected from a Marriott hotel. Room dated and poorly finished bar area dark and dusty. Breakfast good but shame that tea and coffee is not freshly made to order but left in pots in side so not very hot car parking extremely expensive at eighteen pounds a night

Dear lizziew60,

Thank you for writing a review about your recent stay at the Cardiff Marriott. I am sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay, I have shared your comments regarding the décor with our Executive Team and hopefully a refurbishment will take place in the future.

I do apologise that your tea and coffee arrived to you and it wasn't very hot, this is certainly unusual as our tea and coffee are made freshly. Our restaurant team would be extremely happy to make you another one.

With regards to the car parking, we are competitively priced against our competitors and one of the cheapest in comparison in the city.

We would like to thank you for your feedback and hopefully welcome you back again when your travels bring you back to Cardiff!

Kind Regards,
Caroline Nelson

Very pleasant hotel, excellent bar area, breakfast was above average. Location is great for City centre attractions and for International Rugby (book very early!!). Rooms are a bit dated but do have USBs for charging - as against recent Glasgow stay.

Room Tip: If you can stretch to Executive room the courtesy guest club on the 8th floor is a nice bonus and the Onon Bhajis and jelly beans are great.

Was in Cardiff for a single night on business so this central location was very convenient since I did not have transport. Reasonably priced with the deal that we got and absolutely nothing to complain about except the hotel is located in a very noisy part of town. Breakfast was separate but also very reasonable.

Room Tip: It is a noisy part of town so perhaps you could ask for a quiet room.
