I know this area very well having grown up here so I also know that if, like me, you are travelling alone then you will at least have something to keep you occupied during any down-time. Sainsburys (opposite) serves very good standard meals during the day for <£5, and the outlet centre at Macarthur Glen about 50 yards away provides an opportunity to browse, stretch your legs, grab a decent coffee and take advantage of the Odeon multiplex without having the kids in tow. Having said that, I still chose to watch Puss in Boots but at least can fairly claim to have fallen asleep during it. The Red Dragon in Litchard is a short distance by taxi, and is smart with a friendly clientele; they also do decent food and real ales.

I paid £19 for a room and it was clean and warm there was a nice lounge area and a lovely smell from the restaurant next door but we had eaten at Table Table with friends before we arrived. Nice shops in area. Can recommend at this price and liked the new 30 mins free on internet well done!

Stayed at this Premier Inn while visiting family over Christmas, I must say this is one of the friendliest and welcoming Premier Inns I haved stayed in. The rooms are immaculate, and extremely quiet. What I also like about this particular hotel is that they have a small dining room on site where breakfast is served, you don't have to walk to another facility in the morning. I was impressed when we arrived on a cold, wet and windy afternoon that hot chocolate had been left in our room with a note welcoming us, this was indeed a nice touch.

We visit and stay at this hotel many times and due to circumstances almost too many occasions in December 2011. I concur with what alot of other reviews show here. The staff are really attentive and on one occasion made sure we were okay when we had to arrive in an emergency. Therefore we are regular users of one of the family rooms which can be found on the lower ground floor, but have on occasion it has been just my wife and I. The rooms are nerally clean and has everything that you need, or they can supply. We have found on one occasion that the shower dispenser has not been working and have reported this and on one occasion the coffee machine was not working at the breakfast area so a substitute version was applied but otherwise we have no other issues. Breakfast is extra but is usually good and the children's is generally free. Still for the price it is just what we need and as long as noise is not apparent this is a great stay. Nearby is the outlet shopping centre with a variety of restaurants as well. Otherwise the centre of Bridgend is nearby as is the M4 for heading either east or west. The room does allow you to adjust the temperature of the room and this was needed when it was cold. Just revisit the thermometer the next morning as it does reset itself. They used to supply packs for the children to amuse themselves but this is no longer available, so if the freeview television channels do not provide entertainment then you need to ensure that you have something for the little ones.

Room Tip: The rooms are grouped so that family rooms are in one area so if you do not have a family get an upp...

Thank you for detailed review. I am delighted to hear that you have stayed with us on a few occasions now and we very much value your feedback.

For future reference if you do have children staying with you, although we no longer provide the packs for them we do instead have DVD players, children DVDs and board games available when requested. Please just ask a member of staff and they will happily provide you with these items if needed.

We look forward to seeing you return in the near future.

My husband and I always stay at this Premier Inn when in Wales, it ticks all the boxes, Sainsburys for anything you might have forgotten, shops, a cinema, a Harvester next door. Ample free parking, near motorway junction. Laura always makes us very welcome as do evryone on reception and she knows we like it on the third floor.

Room Tip: We always try to get on the third floor, away from the Harvester extractor fans
