“Great Base for Snowdon Summit Walk or visiting the National Park”
Reviewed 20 April 2012 via mobile

The Royal V with its Staff is a Great Hotel. We have just returned from a 2 night stay (17-19 Apr) after using the hotel as our base to walk\climb to the rooftop of Wales (not bad for a mid Fifties cpl). The Hotel is a bit dated but is very clean and functional
Rooms are comfortable with all necessary items ( Kettle\Iron\Hairdryer). The Restaurant and Bar menus were good and reasonably priced with offers on ie. Curry&Pint etc. The Staff more than make up for any failings at the hotel not that we found any. We found the location to be very scenic with great views from the dinning room, ideal for visiting all the Visitor attractions in the town and at the start\finish of the Llanberis path. This was good for us as we caught the bus (Bus stop 100mtr ) up to the Pen y Pass where we started our walk (Miners Track) returning via the Llanberis path then into the bar for a well earned pint:-). We would stay at this hotel again and recommend it . Thank you The Royal Victoria for great stay.

We've just returned from a 3 night break, bargain, will certainly be back! Hotel clean, (maybe needs painting!) staff lovely and food good. Right in the middle of Llanberis, which makes it perfect for exploring Wales, and would certainly recommend!

My friend and I stayed here last weekend. It is ideally located for the Snowdon Mountain Railway and for walks in the area, and despite being near a main road was not noisy. It was clean and adequately staffed, and everyone was helpful. The room was a decent size although I considered the building a little dated and rambling. However, a major make over would require higher prices - you can't have it both ways!

Room Tip: Just ask nicely for a view of the mountains.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and found the hotel very good for the price we paid. The staff were very attentive and friendly and very helpful.Although in need of a make over I found the hotel to be very clean and tidy. The food was very nice and the room I stayed in -117 was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was also up to standard and the shower was great too! With a Happy Hour 3till7 and Meal Deal offers available, there is a package to suit everyone. We chose the Wine and Dine offer, the evening meal was O.K. on the first night, and really good on the second night.Breakfast was also good and plentiful, perfect to set you up for a long trek up Snowdon (well to the Station about 500 metres down the hill,!) All in all a very pleasant stay

Room Tip: we stayed in rooms 117 and 119 which do not have a view but were fine

I have just returned from a fabulous 2 night stay at this hotel.
After reading a few negative reviews i did wonder what to expect but couldnt have been more impressed! Our room was clean, modern and more than adequate, we were on the 3rd floor with wonderful views of the mountains.
The continental breakfast was excellent with more than enough to choose from and the £2.50 upgrade for a cooked breakfast is well worth it.
The staff were all brilliant especially Amy on reception who couldnt have been more helpful.
The bar menu is good value too offering 2 meals for £12.
Its annoying to read negative reviews that are unjustified and could put off potential guests, i say book a stay and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view if possible.
