Had a wonderful weekend at Bryn Howel. Beautiful location just outside Llangollen alongside the canal overlooking the rolling countryside and spectacular mountains. The staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful. The food is of a very high standard for both breakfast and evening meals. Quiet and relaxing with well maintained gardens and plenty of parking space.

We stayed here as it was the closest hotel to a family wedding in the area. It was a decent stay but not for what we paid. I would stay again if it was on a deal but would not pay full price again. The room was quite small and dark, with dark wood furniture. The bed was comfortable. The bedroom door didn’t lock, so we didn’t leave anything valuable in the room. We returned to the hotel early from the wedding at about 10.30pm to have a night cap at the bar with other family members staying there to find the whole hotel was closed. It was a Saturday night also. The room was really hot during the night so opened the window which only had 2 settings, ajar or wide open. Breakfast was nice, the service was good and the views were glorious. It was clean and upon check out the staff were friendly. In the room guest book they do advise they have only taken over the hotel in October 2017 and want to raise the standards back to the original state.

I’ve just come back from a meal at Bryn Howel with my family. What a treat! The hotel is in the most beautiful setting with views of the welsh hills stretching out in front of you. The menu was delicious and very reasonably priced. And the staff were extremely attentive. We went for a walk in the grounds afterwards because it was so pretty. I recommend this place for any occasion - it would be a great place for a wedding.

We have just returned from a lovely afternoon at the Bryn Howel hotel. The food was delicious, well presented and brought to our group by friendly and helpful staff. The Sunday menu gave a good range, with plenty of extras to go round, and the local beer was a delight. We will definitely be going again! Many thanks to all the staff who welcomed us.

We stayed here with a group of friends for a 3-nights "Away-break". The Hotel has an impressive past and is ideally situated to explore the many attractions of the area. , It is within walking distance of Llangollen and the Pontcysyllte aqueduct (along the nearby canal towpath), close to Chirk Castle and within easy reach of Chester. We were attracted particularly by the excellent evening meals and the comfortable lounge areas where we could chat away the evenings to our hearts' content. The bedrooms were clean, if in need of a touch-up.

Since taking over the Hotel late in 2017, the new owners are striving to restore the Hotel to its former glory. There is still much to be done - we wish them well and would certainly come again.
