Pitlands Farm
Reviewed 4 November 2010

Oct 30th 2010-Nov 3rd rented PITLANDS BUNGALOW, comfy cottage with real fire and a handy outdoor shed for fishing tackle etc. Weather was very kind. The fishermen were happy with their catches with a good variety of fish. Lovely place that provides BB as well as self catering. Diane the owner was very pleasant and obliging.
A good place to relax and un-wind. Enjoyed the animals dogs, pigs, goats and chickens.
Ladies be sure to pamper yourselves and pay a visit to Lisa, the on-site therapist. We had Hot stone Massage and Back massage highly recommended. Unfortunately didn't get round to using the Hot tub, maybe next time. We hope to return soon. Bonny :)

Pitlands Farm is a small working farm between the beautiful village of Clifton Upon Teme and the Ham Bridge (which crosses the Teme River) and is right in the heart of the Teme Valley.
There are several types of accomodation available at Pitlands Farm (including a wide selection of self catering buildings as well as Bed and Breakfast, which was our choice of accomodation).
Our bedroom was nice, clean and roomy with a television and kettle (with a wide selection of drinks to choose from). The ceilng has exposed beams and the ensuite bathroom has it's own water heater, so there is plenty of hot water (that is providing you are not silly like me and forget to turn the water heater on).
The location itself is peaceful and quiet and there is a nice selection of farm produce to purchase. They have two dogs and it is rather fascinating to watch the dogs assist in rounding up the chickens each night.
Our room had a lovely view over some of the grounds and one of the fishing ponds, there are several of these (fishing ponds that is) for those of us that enjoy a spot of fishing. Sadly I wasn't able to wet a line mainly because a) the wife wouldn't let me and b) all my fishing gear was 10,000 miles away. I was able to have a bit of a natter to a couple of fisherman one night while they were wetting a line and have breakfast with several other fisherman that were also staying there so I managed to get in a bit of natter about fishing at least.
A great typical English breakfast is served in the beamed dining room, with unlimited toast and a wide selection of cereals. There is also several diifferant locations where you can eat your breakfast if you decide you would like bit of privacy.
There is also a lovely guest lounge with some really comfy leather chairs and an open fireplace that would be just the shot on a cold winter's night.
Sadly it was 6 years between my last stay at Pitlands Farm and this stay and I truly hope that it is a lot less between this one and the next. Clifton Upon Teme is very dear to my heart and staying at Pitlands Farm makes staying there all the more special.
