“Home from home in the city centre”
Reviewed 9 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

This flat has a very well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It is nicely decorated and has a spacious lounge area for relaxing. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.
The flat is centrally located and within a 10 to 15 minute walk you can reach any of the shops, the cathedral and the river. There is a reasonably priced 24 hour car park within a 5 minute walk away. There is a cinema opposite the building, a railway station and a couple of convenience supermarkets close by. It shares a building with a Wetherspoons pub. So whilst the location is convenient, there was a lot of street noise into the early hours of the morning. People walking past in large groups, arguing etc. We were then woken at 5 a.m. by the street cleaner. However, once we invested in some earplugs we slept well. The owners are aware of the noise problem, which seems to be exacerbated by a lack of sound proofing from the windows in the building, and are looking into ways to improve the sound proofing.

Management Response
13 Dec 2016
We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your feedback. The double glazed windows do keep out a fair amount of noise but the city centre does attract night clubbers who do occasionally shout when leaving nearby premises. All the windows in the building match and we are not allowed to have different ones. Where the seals have worn, we have now replaced them. The street cleaner noises have never been reported to us before and under the law, they shouldn't be making a disturbance before 7:30 am anyway. We will notify the local authority. Following your example, we will also also be providing ear-plugs for our guests to use.

Kind Regards, Best Accommodation Services.
