“Loved It.”
Reviewed 16 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We had a great time staying at this cottage. The country setting was very peaceful and yet close enough to Broadway to walk into town. All amenities were provided as described. The backyard was spacious and private. We were a family of four with plenty of room to still feel comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.

“Lovely Cottage - Stay Ruined By Baseless Claim. Photograph EVERYTHING !!!!!!”
Reviewed 13 April 2018 for a stay in March 2018

The cottage is lovely, however the stay was completely soured by the Owner subsequently making a baseless claim for alleged bleaching of a duvet cover and pillow case in one of the guest rooms and the total lack of logical and legal rigour exhibited by the Trip Advisor Team investigating the dispute.

The Owner initially claimed that it had been caused by bleach or hair dye. We were immediately able to discount hair dye as the guest sleeping in the room is bald and had never used hair dyeing products in his life. This left the Owner putting forward the nonsensical argument that a guest (who would have no cause to have bleach or to use it ) spilled bleach on both sides of the bed linen and the pillowcase and then continued to sleep on the same bed linen – with no bleach contamination of any other items that were in contact with the linen. The far more likely scenario is that the Owner’s own cleaner who had access to bleach and had cause to use bleach stained the covers either during cleaning or laundry pre or post our stay. However neither the Owner nor Trip Adviser even considered this most logical explanation. Needless to say the dispute is continuing and has completely ruined our stay.

In summary, if you intend letting this cottage *BEWARE* - take photos of EVERYTHING (there was pre-existing water damage to the ceiling of the lounge which we did photograph) and better still arrange a joint inspection both on arrival and departure. And further beware allowing any claim to be presided over by Trip Advisor who seemed to be completely unaware of the most basic principles governing liability for damage claims.

Fortunately, we have only made two claims for damage to the property in almost 4 years of trading - having taken over 100 bookings. We have not made any claims for minor accidents. Mistakes and accidents sometimes happen. This accident was covered by the damage deposit. New bedding is now in situ in the cottage.

“Fabulous cottage in idyllic surroundings”
Reviewed 29 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We stayed here mid March. The cottage is beautiful, the position is ideal as it is just on the edge of this busy village so you can visit all the shops and restaurants but still get away from it. There’s a great choice of restaurants and bars and yet you can take walks out across the fields, as we did, up to the tower which was just over an hour and a lovely cafe at the top for refreshments. We also visited other local scenic villages but Broadway seemed to be the most idyllic. Specially if you enjoy shopping! The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped. Just perfect.

Hi Rachael
Thank you for your lovely 5 star review. Broadway Tower is a very interesting folly and was in fact the brainchild of the great 18th Century landscape designer, Capability Brown. His vision was carried out for George William 6th Earl of Coventry with the help of renowned architect James Wyatt and completed in 1798.

The location for the Tower was wisely chosen, a dramatic outlook on a pre-medieval trading route and beacon hill. Wyatt designed his “Saxon Tower” as an eccentric amalgamation of architectural components ranging from turrets, battlements and gargoyles to balconies.

Hope to see you and your family again so that you may explore more of The Cotswolds.

Kind regards
Elizabeth

“Our family of 6 will be back for more of this Quaint and Iconic Cottage!!!”
Reviewed 13 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

This beautifully decorated and well maintained thatched cottage was perfect for three kids and three adults! Plenty of space and was able to experience waking up to the hounds walking by the cottage and the sheep in the back hills! So cool! Located close to the beautiful town of Broadway! Breakfast at the Broadway Deli and drinks at the Crown and Trumpet happened to be my favs! Loved the people at both... and you have to get a millionaire shortbread from the deli...delish! Elizabeth the owner was awesome and can't say enough about this cottage... except that I will definitely be back!! Great find and thankful to have had this experience on my trip!

“Superb!!!”
Reviewed 5 March 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Stayed here over the half term break with our three children. They were all excited at the prospect of staying in a thatched cottage and it certainly didn’t disappoint!!
What a delight!
The cottage is located a 5 min walk from Broadway’s Main Street - lots of wonderful shops and quaint pubs and tea rooms. We had a lovely meal at The Swan - would recommend.
The cottage itself is beautifully presented and boasts the most spectacular views both front and back. The inside is tastefully decorated and it is obvious that the owners have put the comfort of guests at the top of their priority list - lovely soft towels, beautiful bedding are just some of the luxuries on offer here!
A previous review highlighted problems with the water pressure. I can safely say we didn’t experience any such problems at all. The showers were lovely and hot and more powerful than ours at home. Indeed , the only problem we had was tearing ourselves out of them.
A wonderful holiday - thank you! We will def return!
