“Excellent stay”
Reviewed 16 April 2012

We stayed here for 1 night and wished it could have been more!! The room was luxurious and spacious. The bathroom was clean and cosy with underfloor heating and the bed was extremely comfortable. The meal in the restaurant was delicious and I can thoroughly recommend the chocolate delice!! There was a wide variety of fruit and cereals for breakfast as well as traditional cooked options. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend Russell's to family and friends and would definitely stay here again.

They call the place "a restuarant with rooms" and that is exactly what it is! The upper floor has very well thought out rooms and access is through the rear of the buildiing. The building like most of Broadway is "oldy worldy" with the tradition Cotswold yellow finished plaster. One feels like having stepped back 200 years looking out. The staff are lovely. Andrew, the boss is a gentleman...and a special mention for Karine who is Swedish...one of the ladies who makes sure you are being well attended. An excellent place for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Room 3 is very spacious and has a good view of rear of building

My wife booked us in here for 3 nights in March for my 50th B/day. Hotel is small boutique with i think 7 rooms total above the restaurant. Typical beautiful Cotswold building on the main drag in Broadway; good parking shared with the supermarket behind them. We stayed in room 1 overlooking the front of the hotel, well equipped with excellent queen bed, quite well laid out apart from the tea & coffee that was hiding in a draw in the wardrobe and therefore a bit of bind to use. Had an honesty bar just outside the room with all the spirits, mixers, nespresso coffee and nibbles you could need - just fill in a form and hand in to reception when checking out - nice touch! AC in room, bath room good sized but shower pressure a bit lacking. The owner was very helpful and friendly, excellent local knowledge as he has owned other guest house / hotel in the area for many years and knows what the local clientele wants. I would very much recommend the hotel but to be frank not the restaurant. Nothing horrendous but personally I think overpriced for the standard, but you are in one of the major tourist spots in the UK!

We were greeted by Swedish Karina who was great and her and Arlene waited on our every need as did also the three evening waiters, one of which was the Manager. They all are an absolute credit to Andrew, the owner. We would have loved to have stayed longer but business brought us back to Devon. We will most certainly return
