Owner description: River Bourne Community Farm is based on land adjacent to Cow Lane in the village of Laverstock, Salisbury. Initially on 63 acres of land adjoining the River Bourne, the farm has developed into a sustainable working farm, supported by full-time staff and by volunteers. The farm is managed by The River Bourne Community Farm C.I.C. This is a 'Community Interest Company' designed specifically for those wishing to operate for the benefit of the community rather than for the benefit of the owners of the company.Education plays a large part of the farm, giving local educational establishments access to the day-to-day work of the farm whilst stressing sustainability and ecologically sound practices. A traditional herd of cattle, with sheep, pigs and hens is complimented by some crop planting. Fruit and vegetables are grown in our education field and polytunnel. Visitors are welcome to come and have a look around the farm and see all the animals including our very friendly goats and donkeys. We have a farm shop selling eggs from our chickens, pork and sausages from pigs reared on the farm, local honey and many other lovely treats! We also have a cafe where you can get refreshments, home-made cakes and light lunches and snacks. Check our website for events, workshops and other information.
Useful Information: Food available for purchase, Wheelchair access

Always a pleasure to visit this community farm. They have regular events here. From live bands/music to open farm days and today we visited during half term for a pumpkin hunt. For £1 children had to hunt for 10 pumpkin pictures dotted around the farm for a sweet prize at the end. All the children we saw enjoyed finding these along with seeing the animals on the farm. In addition to this was an extra charge for tile mosaic making which my grandson enjoyed doing. The farm shop has lovely food and refreshments for sale. Really involved with the local community and gives a great opportunity for children to appreciate the great outdoors

I always take my son here but this summer it was lacking animals. I love the idea of this farm and always provide a donation as it is free to enter but I feel 10 mins walking around this summer and that was all of interest to see. I hope to spend longer here next time but will leave it until next year now

Sorry for delayed response (should check Tripadvisor more often!) - it’s always difficult in the summer as we want our animals to be out in paddocks rather than cooped up in the farmyard pens, which means they’re not so easy to see, easpecially if it’s hot and they are seeking shade.
Our new cafe opens soon so hope we see you again soon.

A great place so close to Salisbury. But also feels close to the countryside.Best of both worlds.

They are always putting on events throughout the year , well worth going to.

Great farm shop as well.

Love our local farm. Various events happen throughout the year. My kids love visiting, seeing the animals no river dipping.

We expected a bit more from this, than a handful of pigs, two donkeys, some rabbits, some guinea pigs, a turkey and some sheep. Walked around, picked some wild blackberries and left, total took around 30minutes so not really worth the journey.
