Description: Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Latin culture with the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – our home is your home. And as the Eagles sang...“you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave” MusicMusic is our passion and Joe Strummer is at our heart. The Clash inspired us to name our bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. We play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80’s and more. Central American CultureSandinista!s revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front . They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Latin inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor. Rock ‘n’ Roll and Food For the Soul“It’s more fun to eat in a bar then drink in a restaurant”Our menu focuses on simplicity and sharing. Choose from ‘Pots, Pans or Cans’... or sharing boards. Prepared using only the freshest ingredients, our dishes embody Sandinista’s Latin inspired food ethos. Simple great tasting cuising that reflects the culture it was born out of.Drinks (open every day till 3am)Why did the Mexican push his wife off the cliff? Tequila!!!! Sandinista!'s impressively stocked bar offers an impressive range of cocktails from the four corners of the globe, our top sellers being fruity, tangy twists on Mojitos, Daiquiris, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Juleps. Our back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of craft beers.

Went here for a beer, was greeted by a miserable bar man, needs to try smiling at customers instead of grunting at them. Asked for a fruit beer, wih that, he didn't even look at me, just tapped the top of the pump and said 'it's out'..didn't even suggest anything else theu had similar. My partner then went to order a pint and with that his reply was 'it's 8 quid a pint mate' ....absolutely terrible customer service and expensive. Won't be going back here.

Having been here a few years ago, it took us a while to come back as it was a bit rough/ dirty then, but we're glad that we did.
Now it's a nicer bar with decent music in fitting with environs and the spirit of the customers. There was a large hen do crowd when we went, but they weren't as out of control as the patrons were the last time we visited - perhaps this is due to more responsible bar staff/ entry policy.
It now has a far more positive vibe. Drinks were a little pricey, but the overall experience was fun.

Always a great atmosphere here. It's great to go for a bit of delicious tapas - the rump steak is to die for - and some fantastic cocktails to start your evening, and even better for more cocktails and dancing to great music late on. the bar staff really know their drinks, and are always friendly, and the door staff are great too. I've not been for a while, but I can't wait to get back and try the new menu (I've checked, the steak is still on there!)

Years ago, when Sandinista was less popular, I used to like to come here as there was room to dance! Not much chance of that on a Saturday night these days, but I'm too old to dance now anyway! Sandinista seems to go from strength to strength, even has a few ales now. Coffee is good. I've only eaten here a couple of times, but it was nice. Service has always been friendly, and the door staff are a great bunch.
