Upon arrival we were greeted and booked in quickly. Booked an Executive room but we were upgraded to a suite (room 301) which was fantastic. We found the staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Loved the bar area and although we didn't have an evening meal the breakfast was really good with both a buffet and a choice of cooked breakfasts off the menu.
The hotel is located in the business area, 5 minutes from the station and a further 5 minute walk to the main shopping area.
We have stayed in Leeds on various occasions and will stay again in The New Ellington on our next visit. Thank you to the New Ellington for making our stay most enjoyable.

Room Tip: If money is not an issue book the suite or try for an upgrade

This hotel is tucked down a quiet side street and a car park directly opposite £14 for 24 hours. There is also on street pay & display for a max of 2 hours for £5. It's also near the train station. We were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants in 5 mins and it was lovely being tucked down a quiet side street. The service from the staff was excellent my only one slight complaint was there was only 1 person to check you in & out but this was not a big problem and the lobby has nice sofas and magazines to read while you wait. The room what can I say! We are regular travelers and this is the best room we've every had Ian city centre. Amazing super king bed, robes, slippers, coffee maker, shower with rain drenching head and a bath big enough for two. I would have no hesitation staying here again.

The hotel is located approx 10 min walk to the city centre & has adequate gated parking opposite (for an additional charge).

The reception & bar area are as to be expected but the room was a huge let down for us. We found it to be more Travel lodge & the eye for detail is certainly missing. Our issues with the room were:
No black out blind (we noted other rooms had one). Our room had the brackets but not the actual blind, the hotel must of been aware of this but still put us in the room. Result was being woken early with sunlight through the shutters.
Room doors slammed so other people coming and going was noisy. Most hotels seem to have something on the door so that it shuts slowly.
There was limited linen in the bathroom, the bath was 1980s Marriott and the side was hanging off. Chambermaid was minimum service with dirty glasses just left on the side from the night before.

That said, it was clean with comfy bed & hot shower, but it is sadly not bespoke. For the price, we would not stay here again. We informed reception of our issues on check out so they have hopefully been rectified.

This was our second stay. The hotel has maintained excellent standards and hospitality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a huge room on the top floor complete with sofa and chairs. Would have happily spent the evening in the room as it was so comfortable. The bed is ultra comfortable and it's great to wake up to a cup of nespresso rather than a sachet of instant! There's free street parking outside between 6pm and 8am. The hotel does have a few spaces in a car park opposite that works on a first come first served basis. If, like me, you have to use the nearby open air car park then make sure you have loads of coins - it's £10 overnight but the machine doesn't take notes or cards!
Now trying to find an excuse to stay at the New Ellington again.

Room Tip: Some rooms appear to be very near lifts which I can imagine could be noisy.
