“lovely evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

I booked a room here for myself, my nephew (13) and my niece (9) for a Easter treat. We had our wedding here 3 years ago and throughly enjoyed it so the kids fancied a night away and I booked it. The price was quoted as £10 for room if you spend £50 in restaurant, but when i phoned to book as I was having a family room, this went up to £30. so £80 in total. lovely room, really clean, we went for meal in restaurant and the staff were a bit unhelpful, we didn't realise it was just carvery only on a Sunday, but the food was nice and we enjoyed it. in the morning the breakfast was fab! kids loved it and then spent lots of time in the pool. i really like it here, wish they offered a loyalty scheme as i would definitely come more often if i felt valued.

Stayed here for one night with my daughters and grand daughter (6).
Reception staff and housekeeping were really helpful. booked it with Spa breaks and got a little box with a couple of little bottles of spa goodies in each of the 2 rooms. Paid full price for the 6yr old, but couldn't leave her out, with hindsight it would probably have been better and cheaper to book direct with the hotel and forget the freebies.
Rooms were excellent and a good size modern reception area with plenty of sofa's. Starbucks and sports bar on site, along with main restaurant and spa.
pool is full 25m long and was a bit chilly for me, there was a separate spa pool and a jacuzzi in the main pool. There were about 6 loungers poolside but it was a bit chilly to lay out in your cossie. Sauna and steam room were large.
Our booking included a 3 course meal each, which was from a smallish menu and not really suited to a 6yr old however, the staff let her mix n match with the childrens menu which was great, they also offered something off the menu for vegetarian daughter, which was appreciated.
My one moan was breakfast. The hotel was busy, but the breakfast room was chaotic (we did have a nice table tho). Food choice was basic and not overly inviting. Big jugs of juice, big bowls of cereal, but not much choice, few pieces of fruit and a few pastries. The grapefruit, melon and yoghurt were by the hot plate, which wasn't manned and I had to ask a waitress for eggs as the plate was empty, other people had waited then walked away. It may be worth noting that this was at 10.15, breakfast was served til 11am. Staff were packing away cereals at 10.40!
What I found worse was the mess, food spilled under and around tables was left and staff were using a disgustingly filthy trolley to go round clearing the tables, dirty dishes on the bottom and a clear container for cutlery and another for left over food on top. I've stayed in lots of hotels and never seen it done like this before, gruesome!

The staff were great, but suggest there may be a training issue

Room Tip: Go for a high floor as I imaging lower ones could be quite noisy

Booked a night here with groupon £49 for two to stay one night with use of facitities and breakfast.

The rooms were great- very modern, stylish clean and well thought out

The spa facilitis were great,

The restauranthad a meal offer- it was tw meal for £10 i think but you could upgrade to get a steak for £20 and it included a wine or a beer. The meal was fantastic and well worth more than we paid.

The location of the hotel is its only downfall as it is on a business park beside a motorway but it is a short taxi ride to leeds city centre.

All in all- LOVED IT- well done De vere village hotel

We loved staying at this hotel, arriving on Friday and departing on the Monday it was a good weekend, Reception staff (reception is straight in front of you when you walk in as to be expected) were very helpfull and attentative, fully acceptable in this class/standard of hotel.

The rooms we used were clean and well prepared no complaints at all there.

Yes the bar can be quite noisey, we took one look and headed off somewhere else but we know that Village Hotel bars are open to non-residents and do draw a lot of outsiders to the Leisure Centre users and general public alike so we expected that.

Breakfast is exceptional and our evening meal equal to it. The leisure facilities make it a great place to stay for those who don't want to venture out of the hotel but if you don't mind driving out to a local restaurant or place of interest even better, the on site facilities simply enhance a stay when visiting attractions in the area.

Lot's of bargain package deals available if you keep an eye on the groups website.

Room Tip: If you plan to venture away from the hotel during your stay this is one where you need a vehicle it...
