“Perfection”
Reviewed 22 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We recently stayed in the Granary and it is one of the most gorgeous places we have stayed. A group of us went for a long weekend. Everything you need is here and is of the highest quality. The restoration is exemplorary and the decor just right. All bedrooms are very large and all en suite affording that little extra privacy. It was warm and a wood burning stove if you needed it. The other cottages looked lovely too. The owners were so friendly and welcoming you really could not want for better hosts. If you want a treat, stay here.

“Great stay at The Granary, Pitlands Farm”
Reviewed 25 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We have just returned from a family mini-break, spent in The Granary, a truly wonderful experience. No wonder it has 5* luxury status...it is thoroughly deserved! The photographs do not lie, but you have to see to get the full experience of the space inside. All the rooms are tastefuly decorated, lovely wooden furniture, doors and flooring. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and included welcome gifts of fresh eggs, milk, wine and a delicious home-baked Victoria sponge - thank you Jenny!
The lounge area was extremely comfortable, with wide screen tv & dvd, music system plus games, books and plenty of info about things to do, in the area. We particularly liked the books on the history of the farm, including its link to Roman history, and the photo book showing all the stages of the barn conversion.
The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful and peaceful....so quiet and very dark at night!
There are several inns and pubs locally and we can recommend The Richmond Arms in West Ashley, where we had a delicious meal, to celebrate our Ruby Wedding.
We can't wait to come back!

“Excellent accommodation in beautiful setting.”
Reviewed 13 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

It was just luck that I found out about Pitlands Barns and I'm so glad I did. I stayed in The Granary this weekend with my husband and son and the place is spacious, immaculate, serene and extremely well-equipped. The hosts have thought of everything and there's a feeling this is more than just a business to them. Underfloor heating throughout, all en-suite rooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, gorgeous towels and bed linen, the constant supply of wood for the fire, all add up to a wonderful country experience. The setting is stunning and a great base for walking. My son (7) adored feeding the chickens and collecting eggs each morning.
This place brings self-catering to a new level. We can't wait to go back.
