Stayed for one night last week. The staff on the desk were very welcoming. Unfortunately the heating in my room was not on, so very cold. Staff fixed this, but the heating proved to be inadequate, and I had to supplement with an electric heater in the room. My window latches were broken and it wouldn't close properly, adding to the warmth issue. The picture above must be of a special room, as nothing like mine. The decor is old and tired in the common areas and the rooms. The bathrooms really need an update. My shower was a poor over bath system, coming off a combination tap which was very leaky and had no real power, and the water was only warm, not hot. The sealant around the bath was very stained. Breakfast is good. Overall a reasonably priced package, but there are better rooms available in Coventry for a similar price.

This hotel had good reviews but unfortunately we were given a room yet to be refurbished and it was the worst room we have ever stayed in (and we have travelled extensively). The bathroom was particularly grim with black mould around every tile, on the ceiling and red mould on the shower curtain. Wallpaper was peeling and the window sill in the room was dirty, window frames mouldy. I really don't think it is acceptable to rent a room like this. The receptionist explained if we asked in advance we might get a refurbished room but this didn't help us in this instance. I really wouldn't stay here at any price let alone the £87 we had to pay.

This was a well-run, friendly hotel. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Food (both dinner and breakfast) and drink was good and competitively priced. Indeed the whole offer is competitive - I got a large room including breakfast for just over £40. Free wi-fi which seemed to work very well throughout the hotel. I would tend to concur with some of the other reviews here that the upstairs of the hotel and the bedrooms are in need of a make over. There's nothing wrong as such but they are a bit faded. The downstairs looks like it has had a relatively recent refurb.

A great family meal, the staff were fantastic and helpful with dietry needs too. Very reasonable prices and a flexible menu too. The tables in the restaurant were laid to a high standard, making it look very regal. Free wifi too.

Room tip: Only had a meal this time

not great lack of staff no control and very poor décor food was average but not as good as I would expect from even a three star hotel. staff were friendly in the restaurant (if you could locate one) I believe they are going through a refurbishment but they said this two years ago so not expecting much improvement - I do hope they do it as it is a great place
