Visited with hubby on Mothering Sunday before attending a concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Although we hadn't booked and it was very busy they still made room for us - thank you.

Staff friendly and attentive.

Good menu selection. Food excellent, service great.

Loved the complementary prosecco on arrival and tulip on departure.

Reasonably priced.

Toilet facilities good.

Nearby parking.

Would recommend and visit again.

Once again, after 2 yrs a large group of us went back there for 3-nights during a Conference over Easter. Initially we didn’t book a table as we pre-paid for all 3-nights at the Hilton Garden Inn, Brindley Place, Bham. But their restaurant was appalling and a sorry excuse of a 4 star hotel restaurant. Stranda not only remembered some of us, but they accommodated each nights visit pleasantly, with courteous service, a friendly smile, and food that arrived shortly after placing an order.
This restaurant goes beyond serving the customer, but it actually cares....highly recommended

Our party of 9 arrived at 9.30 to be ignored by the one waitress we could see, ( there was only a couple and another party of 7 in the whole restaurant)then and for the rest of the evening she was more interested in talking to the couple on their own. She messed up the starters and then disappeared . The male waiter / barman and the manageress were much more amenable and apologised for the mix up. The food was chain Italian , but wasn’t bad . They had run out of some sweets and the waitress wanted to serve the liqueur coffee with the alcohol in a separate glass!
When the bill came we worked out why she was desperate to put four tables together rather than us sitting as a 5 and 4; 10% service charge for the worst service we experienced whilst in Birmingham for our conference . Bella Italia was great on Friday

My daughter and I visited midweek at 5 o'clock. The service and food were both very hit and miss. We were ignored for a few minutes after entering as were another couple by a waitress who was arranging glasses. She then seated us in a dark part of the restaurant which was almost empty. When asked if we could sit in the brighter part near the window she said they were all large tables so no.
We waited ages then had to catch her eye to order our drinks and food. After a long wait our arancini balls and frito misto arrived. the latter was inedible so we sent it back. The manageress then came over and apologised and said they would do another one free of charge. This was much nicer when it arrived. Obviously freshly cooked. After another long wait at 6.30 we asked if our mains would be long. The waitress checked and said they were just coming. Five minutes later they arrived. My chicken pasta dish was absolutely delicious and my daughter enjoyed her pasta. The staff checked if we were happy too.
We asked for the bill as we were now pushed for time. The manageress came over and only charged us for our wine and one main course as we had a taste card (bogof). She was really friendly and nice so it all turned out nicely in the end.
The restaurant was really quiet and the service should have been quicker although the staff were pleasant enough. The redeeming feature was the lovely manageress but she needs to think about the customers experience. We would not return.

Waited 35 minutes for our starter to arrive, not once asked if we would like a refill on our drinks. Main meal was average. A lot of shouting from the kitchen. Wouldn’t return.
