Went there last most for my wife's birthday. The hotel was great. Quirky name for the bedrooms, the bed were so confortable. The bathroom reminded me of an old French house but everything was top quality, the shower was so powerful.

Mini Bar was well stocked and the breakfast was like being back in the middle of Paris in a Cafe, a real taste of home.

We had dinner in the restaurant, the wine selection was good and good value, the special was delicious. Couldn't fault anything

The Birmingham Du Vin Hotel is fantastic. Just spent one night there on business and was very impressed. Helpful freindly staff, clean tidy rooms, excellent restaurant and food. I couldn't fault the place at all.
You will need a Sat Nav to find the place as it's in the middle of nowhere and amongst a host of one way streets. Parking is poor and expensive if you use valet parking at £20 a night.
In comparison to other Du Vin Hotels, this one is much bigger. There is a good gym, large spa and a couple of bars. I wasn't keen on the pub section on the bottom floor as odd people were allowed to walk in off the street. All in all a splendid hotel if a little worn in places, I can't wait to come again with the wife.

We took advantage of the Friday night package which is available. The room was small but perfectly formed and had everything we needed for out 1 night stay. The hotel itself was beautiful and up to the usual Du Vin standard. We ate in the restaurant and found the service and food to be excellent.
Well worth a visit especially on a Friday night!!!

Room Tip: we just booked the basic room we thought we might be offered an upgrade on check in but we wasn't. The room was small but ok for one night.

This must be our fourth visit here and has become our first choice of hotel when staying in Birmingham. As is often the case when we're visiting the Midlands we were following Chelsea FC - this time to see them play Aston Villa (and hopefully get some revenge for the 3-1 drubbing they inflicted on us at Stamford Bridge on New-Year's Day).

Checking in was smooth enough as was finding our capacious room - within 10 minutes of arriving we were back down in the lively pub bar before depositing ourselves in the bistro.

Although the bistro is a pleasant enough dining room and on a Friday night has plenty of buzz I didn't really manage to relax and enjoy my meal after having been seated in what was effectively a corridor with every passing waiter managing to bump into my chair - serves us right I guess for being later arrivals - it will make us reconsider eating here again though as there are plenty of other places nearby.

We liked the huge comfortable bed, the well stocked mini bar, the bathroom and toiletries and the overall ambience and location of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the long leisurely breakfasts with plenty of choice.

Prices are higher than a lot of other places around the city - sometimes though we just like to spoil ourselves.

I stayed for one night on business.

The location was ideal for me, just off Colmore Row.

The room was well furnished and had a great upstairs bathroom with roll top bath and monsoon shower. The hotel provided a good range of toiletries.

There were also a nice range of additional features including a Nespresso machine as well as Tea & Coffee making facilities. Breakfast in the Bistro was excellent.

In summary, a very good hotel in a very central Birmingham location.
