“City Centre location with good canal views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

My wife and I spent two nights at the Hotel and were pleased to say that the standard was as expected for this chain of hotels. Our room was nicely situated on the 4th floor with views of the canal.
Overall a good stay representing good value for money throughout.

We tried to go away for quiet nights rest but unforetunately the walls are very thin in this hotel. As it is close to the city centre a lot of people use it to stay when they have been on the town. We had a group of girls next door who were making a lot of noise between 4am and 5am in the morning and we had to ask reception to ask them to be quiet. You can hear the tv next door, the kettle boiling and even the toilet flushing. The rooms are very small but clean and tidy. I would not stay there again. have even given feedback on their website twice and they haven't responded.

Fifth time I've stayed at a Premier Inn and they are all pretty much the same. Location was excellent, quiet along the canal and just a few minutes walk to the high street of shops, restaurants, etc.
Bed and pillows very comfortable so had a good night's sleep. Bathroom a bit on the small side though.
Had full english breakfast, though it says eat as much as you want, (expecting a buffet style hot breakfast as well as cold) you had to place an order for this and wait... Suppose you could place several orders if you wanted more!!!
All in all, excellent value for money.

Room Tip: canal side rooms are quieter

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. This time was just as good as the first. It is a fab location, within walking distance of the NIA, REP, cinemas, bars, pubs and all the canal side attractions. It is also a quiet hotel, being set a bit back from the main broad street. Also benefits from having a car park! Clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff and baths (not just showers) in the bathrooms. I havent tried the bar or restaurant on the premises, so cannot comment, but the hotel itslef is just fantastic value for money.

Extremely handy location for all central attractions; friendly staff, good breakfast, bonus of free parking. Could only fault this hotel on slightly chilly room which took a while to heat up, and canal view from room was not especially scenic or interesting. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Choice of outlook is canal or car-park. Canal-view room was very quiet.
