Comfortable stay.Requested a quiet room and had no disturbances even on a busy Saturday night. Close to many bars and restaurants and only a 10-15 walk to main shops.
Internet use in reception area was a bonus. All staff dealt with were helpful and friendly. Room was a good size and did not get much noise from other rooms that you get in some hotels that have thin walls. Would recommend and stay again.

Hotel is centrally located in Broad St, which has busy young night life. Clean & quiet inside, we enjoyed our stay. After advising reception of noisey youths on our floor, all went quiet - so effective management of this.
Car park was far too expensive - but local parking available more cheaply. Breakfast service was good, but selection not as good as other Accor hotels I have stayed in.

Friendly staff but very small room for the money ! £100 for all 4 off us, all woke up a bit snuffly ! Breakfast buffet staff nice but quality of food poor except sausages and poached eggs ! Seperate toilet in room a bit quirky ! Room and aircon lets it dowm !

Room Tip: Higher the better

Just stayed for the weekend as our Gym Club (and our son) was competing at the NIA in the British Trampoling Championships.

Hotel has tried its hardest to be accesible and the main areas are. To use the car park in a wheelchair you have to have a member of staff come and get you and take you though the back of the hotel, past the kitchens etc to get to Reception. Staff were very helpful. They have two types of shower chair but neither was really suitable for my husband who needs one that the arms are moveable and is mobile.

Breakfast was good, hot and plentiful. Service on tea and coffee was slow and had to be asked for more than once but otherwise it was ok.

Just one point that was really disappointing to me and shows that disability is still a long way from equality is that we had a group booking of 7+ rooms. Everyone was on Level 5 except us on Level 4 as that was where the accessible room was. Bearing in mind these rooms were booked months ago that was disappointing.

The Novotel promotes "Families". I had to talk with the manager finally about a month ago to see sense. A family of 2 adults and up to 2 children can stay in one room (1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed) for a price. As we had an accessible room they could not put a single bed for our 11 year old son. They then wanted to charge me for the adjoining room which I disageed. It took them 15 minutes to come to their senses (i.e. disabled people do have a family and therefore should not be discriminated against) and the Manager gave us the adjoingin room FOC. To say that I was very angry until this outcome is an understatement, especially as I was put on hold for that 15 minutes listening to their "Sales" pitch of how families stay in their one room and kids are free.

I do think that the car parking charges are extortionate. £15 per 24 hours is expensive when you are already paying £85 a night for a room.

Overall the experience was a typical Novotel one - OK. Access to NIA and the canals, shopping etc - fantastic

Room Tip: Disabled Room 429 is ok but shower is very narrow and there is a limited choice of shower chairs. R...
