Having watched this being built over the past few years this was the first chance to spend a night here. It is high rise with 17 floors, location is perfect for the city centre, concert halls and a short 5-10minute walk from New St Station.
As it is new everything is still shiny and clean although the curtains in our room had multiple tears in them, I assume this is a fault with the material. the shower lead was also splitting as it was mounted very close to the wall. I a few weeks this will start to leak.
Major positives are plenty of power points in the room all in useful places, also the bedside sockets had 2 USB ports for charging so you could charge up to 10 different devices at the same time if you wanted to. Room a good size, lighting bright enough to be of use, mirror in good place with adjacent power point.
This is a Holiday Inn Express so fairly basic but breakfast is included and what was offered was good. Also a small bar next to the reception area.
Limited interface with the staff but those we met were professional, cheerful and good.
Given the fact that the Indigo and Crowne Plaza are all within 1 minutes walk of each other I would say the Holiday Inn Express at this time is the best of these three IHG properties.More
