The service was excellent. The meal, fabulous! Thank you so much for a truly delicious birthday dinner. Despite two large 50th birthday parties being in such a small restaurant- the service could not be faulted- we were all looked after very well. The seafood linguine was the best see food pasta ever tasted. Perfect!
We ate here Tuesday 12th March 2019. Would advise that you book a table. Relaxed atmosphere. Interesting menu at reasonable prices. We ate; Asparagus and Parma ham, mushroom bruschetta, garlic bread for starters - really tasty. Followed by the sea bass topped with prawns with the most delicious chilli sauce, best sea bass dish I have eaten, partner had rib eye steak - which was cooked perfectly. The home made tiramisu is moreish as was the sticky toffee pudding. Fininished with coffee. We drank Inchtu lager and restaurant recommended white wine - sorry can't remember name but it was great with the fish. The bill came to £62.00 for the two of us. Portions were filling. Staff were really attentive, friendly.
Will return soon.
Top quality food and service couldn't fault anything had starters and a main each and both meals were great ,the beer from sardinia is excellent cant remember the name of the bottle but was delicious top Mark's all round
I've fancied trying Mascalzone for a while, based on the great reviews. The food we had was overall very nice and the portions were huge. The olives, bread and cheese starter was certainly enough for two and the pasta with pancetta was an enormous serving. I was slightly disappointed with my cannelloni which was a little dry and stodgy.
On the night we visited, which was a random rainy Tuesday night, it was packed so booking would be essential. We found that the service was a little slow at times - I saw another diner trying to catch a server's attention for quite a while to pay, and we had to approach the counter to ask for additional drinks.
However, food was great value and I would go back, as long as I can park without the risk of a parking ticket as all the nearby streets are permit parking only.
