Description: A stunning Young's pub on the banks of the River Wey, just a stones throw from the shops & boutiques on Guildford's cobbled high street and next door to the famed Yvonne Arnaud theatre. With our riverside setting & large outside terrace, we sit opposite some of the most scenic pastures along The River Wey. When the sun shines there is no better place to enjoy the beauty and community feel of Guildford with the constant stream of narrow boats, kayaks, cyclists and ramblers passing along the river for you to wave at! If you are planning a gathering, whether it's a sit down dinner or drinks & nibbles, our stunning Barn with its beams, beautiful décor and river views is really something special. In the colder months, this space really comes into its own with cosy armchairs by the fire. Our 'dog corner', featuring dog beds, treats & towels for muddy paws, ensures our four legged friends are well catered for after a long walk.

Went to Weyside today for birthday lunch for colleague having booked a couple of days in advance. After waiting over 1 hour for our food, the waitress came over and told us they had a wedding on, apologised for the delay and said our food would be out next. After another 20 minutes, we finally received a couple of dishes (we were a group of 7) however they came out 2 at a time with a 10 minute gap between therefore some of us had nearly finished our food before others had even started! To make matters worse, the burgers were tasteless, the buns were burnt, one order came out with the wrong chips and another came out without bacon that was on the menu. As for the lamp chop, when that came, it was raw in the middle. After having complained and asking to speak to the Manager, another 10 minute wait until we were told the manager was too busy to come and speak to us. Appalling! Their only saving grace was the fact we did not have to pay for anything but some consolation as this birthday lunch will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Came for a lunch with friends recently without a booking but were swiftly seated and welcomed with delicious food and drinks! Would highly recommend, plus the location is an absolute bonus, will definitely be returning with many more friends for summer drinks on the river!

Have eaten here many times and no cause for complaint till tonight. The starters were fine but not so the main course. My sister both ordered the hake supreme. It was supposed to be served with spinach but came out with cold uncooked broccoli. The sauteed potatoes were greasy and unpleasant. The service was not good. We asked twice for water and didn't get any. The mains were brought before the starters were cleared. I had to go to the bar to pay as the waitress was not around. When I spoke to the barman I received a curt apology but he really wasn't interested. As this was just after 5 o'clock and we were the only diners in the restaurant there's no excuse. Not a happy customer and I won't be back.

Service was exemplary, friendly staff and helpful. The place is clean and tidy and the presentation of food and drinks was outstanding. Cannot fault any part of the service and the menu is very flexible. Food was amazing, especially the Camembert. Will definitely be back.

So, me and 2 of my friends were in town wondering were best to go for a good late lunch and I remembered someone mentioning The Weyside!

Today was the first time I had visited and it will definitely not be the last! The atmosphere when we arrived was really nice and relaxed. We were pleasantly greeted on arrival. Once we had got comfortable we ordered the Lamb Hotpot, a burger and some sides.

When the food arrived it was really well presented on cute little boards, we didn't even have to leave our seats as cutlery and sauces were on the table before hand. The food was beautiful (compliments to the chef) and we thoroughly enjoyed our spontaneous afternoon, thank you!
