Aldeburgh is a magical place and The Red Brick House is a delightful place to stay and appreciate its charm. There were five of us (two adults, two teenagers and an eight year old) and the house was perfect for us. The bathroom, shower room and en-suite were brilliant as anyone with teenage daughters will understand and there was a plentiful supply of hot water (and towels!). The living room was the perfect space for family time with its three large sofas and the candles were a lovely touch. The kitchen, although not especially large, has everything you need - the dining table is large (plenty of room to spread out all the Sunday papers) and the extra surface useful when cooking more elaborate stuff. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival and we immediately felt at home.
Aldeburgh has good delis, a Coop, a baker's shop, a fantastic butcher and the fish shacks along the seafront. There are plenty of places to eat; from the superb fish and chip shops to The Lighthouse restaurant which was brilliant both with and without the children. There is loads to do although we were so fortunate with glorious weather that we spent most of our days by the sea. Southwold is worth a visit as is Walberswick for crabbing, Dunwich Head has lovely walks, Snape Maltings for music - something for everyone!

We stayed at the Red Brick House for 4 nights in July 2011 and had an excellent time.
4 Adults and 4 children.
The house was very comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and well equipped. It felt as if we were staying with friends, rather than in a rental.
Kitchen is well equipped with everything needed and a dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer in one of the bathrooms, which was useful. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets (3) to go round a group of 8 and a comfortable living room too.
Location is fantastic, a few feet from the main street and only a few more to the beach. Parking is easy (and free), at the top of the steps close by.
No mobile phone or Wifi signal, so expect to be 'off comms' for your stay! Although there is a bar close by with free WiFi signal.
I'd recommend this rental to anyone, as well as staying in Aldeburgh, which is a very nice village with great shops, fab fish and chips and convenient for days out in Suffolk too.
