My youngsters love this, the butterflies are beautiful. Theres quite a variety to see, the plants are fabulous. Of course it's very warm in there, it's supposed to be a tropical environment. As you wander you may see chrysalis hanging. I bumped into the man who runs it and he's clearly very passionate and knowledgeable. He showed me some caterpillars on leaves, you'd mistake them for bird poo and I'd not seen them and I'm normally very good at spotting things. The meerkats had had babies and we saw various reptiles and the ants carrying the leaves fascinated my kids. If you feel too hot take a break outside, your ticket is valid all day.

My daughter just loves to visit. The only thing is the heat which isn't great in the Summer but this is due to the heat required for the animals. But just a passing comment. It is situated in the beautiful grounds of Preston Park and it was a lovely venue that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.

Butterfly world is a lovely and unique place to visit. The creatures are beautiful, it is fairly priced, and the staff are friendly. However, I was upset by how little space the corn snake had. It was desperate to break free from its enclosure and was unable to fully spread out. I would love to see the reptiles with more space and looking less distressed. I also think that the place could benefit from more supervision, as there was children trying to grab the butterflies, there was butterfly that had been stood on etc. If there was more staff to educate people, there would hopefully be less injuries to the butterflies and other wildlife.

We visited butterfly world on Good Friday. Free parking. Well signposted. Very nice place to visit. Great for people of all ages. Beautifully maintained plants with all kinds of species. The butterflies from around the world were a delight and so many different types. There was also meerkats, snakes, and other creatures. Well worth a visit, a little gift shop was there too. Very reasonable prices too.

Spent an hour in this hidden gem. Be prepared for the humidity inside but the walk around with many varieties of butterflies was truly outstanding. Staff gave advice a few days prior with taking cameras inside due to the cold weather so I was able to enjoy snapping away. Only disappointment was to see the reptiles in the small glassed boxes as I personally felt these were too cramped for the creatures. Even the meerkat enclosure was a bit too small. I would go back as there were some butterflies that I could not photograph as they were flying around too much. Well worth the entry fee to visit.
