“Cosy Retreat”
Reviewed 16 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Stokewood Barn is a cosy one room plus shower room self catering studio. All basic kitchen equipment is there plus a mini dishwasher. Wi fi internet was also great. Nice secluded spot on the edge of a private woodland. Could hear the owls hooting when I opened the door. Wood stove for keeping us warm was lovely, with all wood provided. Host (lives next door) very friendly but not intrusive.

“Excellent”

We Stayed at Stokewood for a 3 night break but wished it was longer. The accommodation was excellent and very cosy. The area is beautiful with lots to do very close by. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We would like to go again very soon.

“Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting”

I stayed here on my own for a week, looking for a quiet place where I could relax, go for walks, and get some reading and writing done. The Stokewood Barn was ideal for this, and is conveniently located in beautiful countryside between Wells and Cheddar. The barn was in very good condition, and there were a number of additional touches that made me feel at home immediately (milk, tea, coffee, biscuits etc.) Honor did a great job of explaining where to find everything, and the barn is very well-equipped.

A very quite oasis in the middle of wonderful country side. A superbly peaceful stay with all the convenience of being self catering. The facilities are great and the setting just brilliant. Watching the wild life and the sun setting was a treat, even the badger was friendly.
