Welcoming staff and well kept gardens. Be sure to get the free themed tour. A great deal of historical knowledge which unfolds in layers as you ask questions

Very informative display of history of Abbey with artefacts and explanations. Lots of explanatory signs on the rings and park like grounds. Free guided tours.

It's certainly a place full of history but there is actually not a great deal left of the building considering what an enormous abbey it was originally, so you will need to use a bit of imagination. Take the map for sure, and a tour guide if you can, and it will help a lot!

The tour around the Abbey was informative and interesting. Bought to life by Brother David and his incredible knowledge of the Abbey, it's history and the history of Surrounding area. Very enjoyable.
