The lodge was exactly as we had expected from the description and the pictures.
The kitchen/living area as everything you would want. The kitchen is a full working kitchen with decent spec equipment for you to cook/prepare food throughout your stay.
The bedroom was peaceful and quiet (coming from London this was appreciated!) and the walk-in wardrobe was a great touch.
The bathroom was equally well appointed and being able to get out directly to the hot-tub made showering before/after very easy.
The hot-tub was of course lovely as was the covered outside seating area. Overall I couldn't fault the lodge, our welcome or the booking experience and would certainly go back.
They do need to sort the rubbish/recycling area out as this was a bit of dumping ground - appreciate it's rubbish but it could have been done better!
Surrounding area is beautiful and I would definitely recommend Cheddar Gorge/Gough Caves!
My partner and I booked this lodge through Bluechip Holidays for our 4 year anniversary and we were not disappointed. Although a typical lodge from the outside the inside is warm, modern and refreshing. Remote control blinds keep privacy at full control and the underfloor heating won't let you go cold!
Kitchen: It has a contemporary kitchen which has most items you would need along with a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, hob and dishwasher. The kitchen island come breakfast bar joins a nice little dining table for two. The website mentions a coffee machine but there isn't one any more. They do provide a cafetiere and Mike (the owner) was lovely and gave us some coffee as we didn't bring any with us.
Living area: The living room is great and has an awesome HD TV with a brilliant sound system and bluray player.
Bedroom: The bedroom features a comfortable super-king-size bed and a handy walk-in wardrobe to keep you bags out of the way.
Bathroom: The bathroom looks and feels luxurious with a LED lit mirror, double walk-in power shower and free standing bath - which is sadly a tad smaller than it looks...at least for a bigger bloke!
Outside: Behind the lodge there is a large decking area with a brilliant and easy to use hot tub - a highlight of the lodge! At times peace and privacy was broken due to the lodge located next a fairly busy country lane and slightly overlooked by the neighbouring lodges. However, this didn't ruin the enjoyment for us.
Overall: The lodge is a wonderful romantic getaway and can make a luxurious and cosy weekend away. For us this trip was purely for a relaxing break and we didn't venture out much. However, Cheddar Gorge is nearby, as is Wookie Hole Caves and the little Cathedral City of Wells. We were greeted at the lodge with maryland cookies and a bottle of red - so sweet!
We highly recommend and would definitely visit again!
