Barton Street Wine Bar
Ranked #7 of 618 Restaurants in Bath
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$ 4 - US$ 35
Description: Set in the heart of Bath but at the same time slightly off the beaten track. Barton Street Wine Bar is the perfect place to chill out with a glass/bottle of wine with a cheese & charcuturie board which many agree is the best in the city. We also stock a carefully selected range of gins and whiskies and have craft beer on tap. Music is seen as an essential part of the experience we offer so as well as the finest soul, blues and jazz played through our music system Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm you can find jazz session pianists playing our piano. We're open from 5pm Monday to Saturday. closing can be anytime up to 2am - just depends on what's happening that particular night! Come and pay us a visit.

Popped in here for a glass of wine before evening meal. Situated in the centre of town, this wine bar has several small rooms to sit in. Not great for a group as quite small. Good selection of wine and friendly service.

Really a great place, very authentic atmosphere with good music and a huge selection of wines- I recommend it for dating and chilled out meetings with friends. Nice art too.

Charming informal wine bar. Manager knows his wines. At his recommendation we had a lovely ‘buttery smooth’ Rioja with a quality antipasto sharing platter selection. Recommend the extra rustic bread basket too. High quality ingredients = very memorable evening. Next time we stay in Bath, Barton’s will be on our itinerary.

I love this place, we recently moved to the area and had friends coming to visit, so I booked a table for the evening. There is a great selection of wines and the waitress was very helpful with helping us make a selection. We also had the meat/cheese platter for 3 or 4 with extra bread, it was delicious and all 4 of us enjoyed it, not bad value at £25. We were also lucky enough to have live piano playing during our visit. We will be back very soon, thank you Jeff you have a lovely place.

Stumbled upon this cracking wee place as we searched for ‘Baths best wine bars’. Feels like you’re being invited into someone’s front room! Welcomed at the door by the owner and shown to our candlelit table right by the pianist. Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff and great entertainment. Small, but very cosy venue, not really suitable for large groups, but great for couples. Huge wine list, great service. Saw sharing boards being served too...looked delicious.
Will definitely be back when I’m next in Bath.
