“Easy by bus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2012

Although there is no parking (except for disabled), getting to Prior Park landscape garden is easy. The number 1 from the Bath bus station to Combe Hill stops outside the entrance. There is a pleasant 45-minute walk through woodland and fields with excellent views of the city. However, it is nowhere near as interesting as the National Trust landscape gardens at Stowe in Buckinghamshire. Worth a visit as part of a Bath break, but not as a special destination. The NT staff on duty were friendly and helpful.

“Could be outstanding,needs more thought.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2012

The easiest way to visit the park is to catch a Bus from the terminus to Combe Down(No1 I think)
the stop is right at the entrance .
Bit disappointing to start with as the grotto is being revamped, after this is a joy to behold-the walks are quite steep so anybody with walking impairments may have trouble getting to the Lake and Bridge at the bottom of the Park. The view from the top is outstandin, the green topped buidings are Council accomodation and the residents hate the colour.Needs more information on what you can see from the top of the park,by a way marker or information point.

“Wonderful views of Bath”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2012

We'd been waiting for a nice day to visit, so we could really enjoy the views over the city, and we weren't let down.
We took the bus from the Bus Station to the entrance, which was really convenient and only took a few minutes. We first saw the Grotto, which was is still in a state of disrepair so was perhaps a little disappointing, but quite impressive nonetheless. The walk then took us around the grounds of the gardens, and there were several viewpoints along the way. The views over Bath were fantastic, and on such a clear day were worth the trip. As the walk wound down to the bottom of the gardens, the views of Bath disappeared and the garden opened up to show us the famous bridge. We continued round the water and were amazed at the scale and beauty of the bridge - and were especially intrigued by the 200 year old graffiti.
Definitely worth a visit when in Bath.

“Leave the car behind”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

We went here from another trust site and were advised that there was no parking on site. There is also no parking nearby and the skyline bus is the best option. There is a lot of uphill walking and we came down from the college which envolved a 500 feet gradient drop, unsuitable for lees mobile people. The lakes were very nice on a lovely day but the fascilities are limited.

“Not great for a wheelchair user but great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

My wife and I visited here a few days ago, not very much of the park is accessible to a wheelchair and as it had been raining in limited me even more but (and it’s a big but) it is still well worth going.
The views are outstanding, steep hills and exceptional use of the natural landscape. It is a peaceful escape from the dreadful rush of Bath and it is very peaceful
I was unable to get down the hill to the café, but when we asked the staff for a recommendation for a coffee stop, they made a real effort and arranged for me to drive round to the staff car park, where someone else helped us get in and park and then took us to the café. The staff really cared and the coffee and locally made cake were good
