Travellers on a modest budget dream of accommodation often only found at exorbitant prices. Hawkins of Bath ticks all the boxes of the travellers' dreams. The location is within walking distance of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Glyn and Diane have catered for every need of the traveller. The high ceiling, tastefully decorated rooms are large, complete with desk and arm chairs, windows that open, ability to choose the temperature of the room and bathrooms with space to relax. The bow-windowed lounge room is again large and designed for visitors to relax in the leather couches and chairs, so they are not restricted to the bedroom. The breakfast room/conservatory is a joy of a morning. No expense is spared on the high quality food (the fresh fruit salad would rank as one of the best we have enjoyed). The gardens are beautiful and befitting this gracious establishment. However, it is the thoughtful and gracious hosts who star in this accommodation: their largesse of spirit and their concern that each visitor feels 'at home' creates an ambience that travellers experience very rarely. This cannot be overlooked when searching for a place to stay when visiting an iconic city.

We decided to spend a week-end in Bath and the Hawkins of Bath was one of the highest rated accommodation , so we decided to book a room.
The Place is easy to reach from the train station and 10 minutes away from the centre and the main attractions of Bath. The room was simply superb, very clean, bright, comfortable and spacious. Diana and Glyn provided us with a perfect service including a amazing breakfast. Recommended if you want to pass some days of relax in Bath disposing of a comfortable accommodation.

We stayed at Hawkins in May after a long flight from Los Angeles. Glyn was a very warm host and the house and room were perfect for us. We love to hike so the walk to Bath was not a problem for us. Bath is a beautiful place to visit and Hawkins of Bath was a great spot for us to get acclimated to the time zone. The breakfasts were wonderful and Glyn went out of his way to recommend walks and things to do and see in Bath. The room was spacious and very clean. We loved everything about Hawkins and our trip was absolutely perfect. Thank you Glyn for a great stay!

We booked the ground-level Bathwick room for 4 nights- it is spacious (particularly the bathroom!) and quiet. We used the on-site parking to stow our car and bus into Bath Center, which is also walkable. Great breakfast includes vegetarian options, served in a bright dining room looking out on their well-landscaped property. The best part of staying here, however, is the ownership. Diane and Glyn are a congenial, hardworking couple who can’t do enough for their guests. They not only provide the usual services, like securing a last minute dinner reservation at a popular restaurant, but will go the extra mile without being asked. When we booked an early morning tour, Glyn volunteered to prepare our breakfast before scheduled hours and then drive us to the pick-up site. In addition, he regularly provided great advice and dialog on site-seeing objectives. Despite our well-researched and planned itinerary, his suggested additions and modifications proved to be among the most memorable parts of the visit. Bath was a wonderful experience for us and when we return, we’re going right back to Hawkins!

Room Tip: Bathwick is a quiet, ground floor room. Bathroom is spacious.

We have friends in Bath and we are always looking for somewhere new to stay. Although we only stayed one night, it was lovely. Breakfast (particularly bacon) very tasty! Room was immaculate and spacious. Thank you both x
