“Nice Countryside Retreat”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

If you want comfortable accommodation in peaceful surroundings then this the place for you.
Martyn the owner had renovated this two bedroom barn to a very high standard. The outside decking is a real bonus with outstanding views across the surrounding countryside.
The barn is up a single track road, but too far from the nearby village of Pontesbury, which has all the facilities that you need i.e Pub(s) Takeaways, Bakery small supermarket to name a few. Shrewsbury is apx 7 miles away but the Park and Ride service is closer. We visted Ironbridge and it's many museums (definatly worth buying the annual pass) Wightwick House (Nat Trust) David Austin Roses and the beautiful Carding Mill Valley ideal for walking and a excellent National Trust Visitors Centre.
The barn is an excellent base to discover the delights of Shropshire.
There are steps (apx 6) down from the carport to the barn and different levels between bathrooms and bedrooms (2 steps) so although basically on single level could be tricky if you have mobility problems/ young children.

Management Response

thank you for your revue,
we are just out of the village which we overlook, approx 15 min stroll down the road which is used by people locally for a walk.so very pleasant.or just 2 min by car.Steps down to property as in pictures on website, wide and not too steep, but may be an issue for some

“Comfortable and welcoming well built conversion”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Welcomed with a vase of flowers and a bottle of red wine and meeting the owner and his wife on our arrival, immediately, we were impressed with the design and quality of the barn conversion. Comfortable beds, ample wardrobe and drawer space meant everything for the week was tidied away very quickly.
The beds and bedding made for comfortable nights and the shower room is more than adequate with plenty of hot water, a warm towel rail and plenty of towels. The well-equipped and designed kitchen/diner made food preparation and dining for four very pleasant. (We did have difficulty with the knives in the knife block, especially the bread knife, that seemed to have a mind of it's own!) Crockery and cutlery were adequate there being four of each and if you were in need of wine glasses and other glass items, all were provided.
The spacious and comfortable lounge was great following a day out in the country with freeview TV and a DVD with a number of disks should find the TV programmes didn't suit. Oh, and in the kitchen there is a Radio/CD player.
The extensive decking wasn't used a great deal due to the cool wind, but on a couple of occasions we made full use of it and enjoyed the ambiance and the views from the elevated position of the property and the layout.
We have no hesitation of recommending a stay at Ineff Barn Retreat

Are stay was exactly what we needed. Peaceful, comfortable and we felt like it was home away from home. The views from the decking are breathtaking, I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

“A Wonderful Stay”

Ineff Barn lived up to our expectations,we fell in love with the photos on the website and when we arrived we already felt at home as all was exactly as we expected.
We were greeted by Martyn on arrival who showed us around the barn and was very helpful in suggesting places to eat etc and this continued throughout our holiday, he was happy to help without being intrusive as was his wife Gill.
The barn was amazing, all the rooms were in character with the building and very comfortable, and there were picturesque views from every window. We were most impressed that Martyn renovated the barn single handedly.

We stayed here with our family over Christmas , the barn has been tastefully renovated and was extremely comfortable , especially lovely beds . This area of Shropshire has amazing walks right from the barn as it is nestled in the hills . There is great local facilities in the village especially nice pub - the Nags Head and bakery . Definitely recommend this barn for anyone who enjoys walking or wants to explore Shrewsbury and surrounding area.
