after having a good main meal with choice of meat for the roasts we asked for a sweet the four of us wanted ice cream trio which was vanilla ginger and rum and raisin we all chose to have vanilla unfortunately we were told as a consequence of stock rotation we could only have what was above. After complaining to the "one in charge" Lewis he raised his arms and said he has other things to do and walked off.
a spoilt meal just because OF STOCK ROTATION !! and because of the DISMISSIVE ATTITUDE OF CERTAIN STAFF!! we are very saddened and disappointed with our overall experience today.

Myself and a friend stayed here on a belated Christmas present jaunt.
Very quirky, lovely area, walkable into the main town to see the bridge and attractions.
We stayed in the Paradise room with the four poster and huge bathroom.
It was clean, tidy, well presented. Yes there are a few things that xpuld be done to give it the wow factor but it all depends what you want really.
A pleasant stay with friendly staff, lovely breakfast and quirky little pub. A great base for the area.

If this evening is anything to go by, don't expect a friendly welcome here. We visited the venue for a drink, not to eat, and as the bar was crowded we found an empty room not set for food (no table mats, cutlery or crockery in evidence) and sat down for a quiet drink. We were interrupted by a member of staff who made no apologies but informed us that the room was for dining only. As all the tables and chairs were pushed to the wall to obviously allow access to the dart board (rubber mat on the floor as well) we found this unlikely. Thus made us feel very uncomfortable. No consideration for the fact that the bar was very busy and we wanted somewhere quiet to chat. We
unlikely as not all the available dining tables were occupied) the door to this room could have been shut. We won't be visiting again.

We arrived on a quiet Monday evening ready to eat after a long working day. We chose directly from a black board menu and decided to go for the main course and possibly a pudding. The portions were so generous that we could not manage a pudding. The food was fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious.
We stayed overnight in the four poster bed which was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was enormous. Breakfast the next morning was the usual Full English and delicious. Other options were available for those not wishing to partake of the ‘fry-up’.
Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely be back to stay a few nights on a leisurely break to explore the local sights.

Looked at the menu and discussed with the chef. They always put on vegetarian starters and mains. They will cater for all dietary needs if prior notice is given. Friendly atmosphere. Restaurant hold 40 however bar meals are still offered all on the same menu.
