“Great experience really good for kids”

The Ironbridge area is brilliant as it has many different museums and places of interest for all ages. This will give your kids a well rounded idea of life in industrial Victorian Britain with out leaving you bored as an adult.

“A really interesting and informative day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

We visited Ironbridge town itself and just one of the attractions as we felt that the passport offer for all the attractions was quite expensive and we would not have been able to see all that was on offer during our short stay, even though the passport is valid for a year and unlimited visits, we live too far away to benefit from this. Ironbridge is a beautiful town set on the banks of the River Severn with the amazing Ironbridge construction crossing the river and providing many scenic views from the town and the surrounding walks. We visited the Museum of the Gorge, in which we spent over an hour learning about the area and the Industrial Revolution through an audio presentation and very informative displays - well worth the admission fee of £3.95 as it provided an excellent insight into the area and a taster of the other attractions if you wanted to see what else was on offer.

“Plenty to do, plenty to see. Allow more than one day.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2012

When I heard we were going to Ironbridge, I groaned inwardly, thinking it was just literally an iron bridge over a gorge.
How wrong I was. We only went to three of the attrcations on offer, the tile museum, the Coalport China museum and the Victorian town but thoroughy we enjoyed our visit there. Coupled to that, you can buy a passport that lets you return as many times as you want in twelve months and the cost of that was recovered after visiting the first two attractions.
The town was superb with excellent demonstrations and staff who were very much in character BUT the weather was extremely kind to us. Very hot, sunny and ideal for strolling around. Had it been damp I doubt that we would have stayed as long as a lot of the 'exhibits' involving walking outside.
Parking was only £1.50 for all day and that gave access to all the car parks at the attractions. Great value, very visitor friendly and we will return.

It is easy to forget what made the Victorians and England great. Museums like this remind us in an interesting way.
