Very good for walking fairly flat although can be muddy if it’s been wet . You can follow the river and plentof wildlife regularly seen a Kingfisher on the water
Rivelin river was a source of power for several industries over the years. Now it provides a lovely picturesque walk especially in the summer months. A great place to bring kids lots to do and see as well as places to eat.
This place is amazing so much to see and explore we took the dogs walking and they love it especially the river crossings
We loved this walk, Christmas week wet under foot, the river full to bursting but it didn't rain. A little apprehensive when we first set out with a 8 month old pup and kids but no problem, we set off from the car park Rails road between Manchester Road and Rivelin Valley Road, we headed towards the café at Rivelin. The river flows one side and the history tour the other. The path can be narrow and it was very muddy, we didn't see all the stepping stones as the water so high, the noise of the river and the waterfalls amazing.
I walked along the Rivelin Valley in October. Would like to go again in the summer. Lovely walk, and I used the coffee shop at the start and on my finish several hours later.
