We rented this property simply because it is close to our children's boarding school. The check in/out was very easy. Parking is on the street with provided parking permit. There is a small convenient store just around the corner. Owner (Liz) was very attentive and helpful. During our stay, there was slight problem with electricity which was fixed the following morning (much faster than some luxury hotels. The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean with plenty of hot water. All in all, I have nothing bad to say about this property.

“Charming property in vibrant area and close to city centre”

My family and I rented this property when we went to Oxford for my graduation. One key reason being its proximity to my college and we liked the personal look and charm of the property. We where not upon arriving as the pictures provided by the manager provide a accurate image of the property.

The house itself is a small terraced house on a quiet street. The house has a nice little garden with with a terrace, which we enjoyed breakfast on everyday as we were very lucky with the weather. Further there is a nice living room and kitchen down stairs, which are tastefully decorated and have maintained a rather personal style. The upstairs have a modern bathroom as well as the master bedroom (which have a walk in closet) and the second bedroom. The beds where comfortable, although the duvet were too thick for the summer weather (although the very warm weather we experienced is not the usual so they may be useful the rest of the year). The second bedroom may be a bit to small for some likening to share, but me and my sister, both being adults, managed to share it well, although cupboard space is limited so we had to hang some of our clothes in our parents room. The property is well equipped and in good standard (apart from the iron which might need clean up). Only real catch I can think of is the rather steep staircase and small hallway which may be troublesome for anyone with mobility issues as both the bedrooms are upstairs. So overall its a very charming property which well covered my family needs for the week we stayed in Oxford.

The property is placed in North Oxford about 15-20 minutes walk from town, which is good as it takes it a bit away from the very busy city centre. This however does not mean that you have to walk a long way for dinner in the evening as you can cook in the apartment or go to one of the many restaurants that are in the local area, as Walton Street with its many good restaurants are just around the corner.

Overall a excellent place to stay in Oxford.

Lovely property in a perfect location, close to many bars and restaurants. Owners were very helpful. Much better than any hotel for our purposes. We parked the car up and didn't need to use it again. Proper little home from home in a fantastic area of oxford, would definitely stay again!

“Lovely Cottage”

We really enjoyed our stay in this very English little cottage. It was very easy to deal with the owner. On-line payment, very quick response to questions, with key box no issue about arranging time to get in or out. Very clean. Bathroom has both a deep tub and shower and towel warmer. The master bedroom is a good size with a small walk-in closet and abundance of clothes hangers. The bed is not an American king size, but rather a queen size. Very comfortable and warm comforter and mattress. The bedroom with the two twin size beds does not have a closet to hang clothes, only a dresser and a couple of hooks on the door. A snug fit for adults.
The kitchen is very well equipped with everything, including dishwasher. Also some basics like sugar and the first couple of days' sugar and tea is there. Very much appreciated that there was dish soap and laundry detergent (buying a big box for a one time washing seems excessive, so this was great). The washer/dryer unit in the downstairs toilet is very convenient, also big sink for hand washing clothes. There is no dining table, but bar seating for four. A small couch for two and two small easy chairs.
The internet worked great! We had to do work and it never failed. TV channels limited, but you can play all kinds of things. We did not even investigate the music and other electronic offerings. Some books there also.
Location is great. 20 minutes walk to downtown. Around the corner any amount of pubs, restaurants, stores, and on the way to town several grocery stores. We did not use the bicycles offered, because it was raining a lot.
Parking made easy with parking permits supplied. One night we had to park in the parallel street around the corner, because Plantation Road was full. It is a one-way street from Woodstock and very narrow. It is very picturesque, though.
Things to consider when you rent this:
- The stairs are very steep, uneven and narrow (it's an old building after all). You might want to consider that, if you have issues with walking.
- No desk for working. You will have to use the kitchen bar.
- No outlet in bathroom for hair dryer. In master bed room you have to plug in behind the dresser, to have a mirror for doing hair and in the 2nd bedroom is no mirror, but outlets more accessible!
- Heat has to be adjusted on the boiler in the kitchen (instructions in drawer in the kitchen for all appliances). It was very cold and rainy when we arrived, as well as jet lagged, and we needed to heat.
All in all a great place to spend time in Oxford and feel like you really are in England! We hope to stay there again, if our travels take us back. I wish the weather had permitted to use the lovely little backyard for meals!
