Thanks to this hotel for allowing me to drop most of my luggage off several days before my actual booking, while I went backpacking down the Thames.

The hotel is interesting, with a very good breakfast included. There's a good bus service into Oxford -- or indeed across Oxfordshire.

My room was an odd shape, and hot, even in late October. There was some noise between the rooms and I'd recommend a room away from the front to avoid traffic noise.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but the launderette a couple of blocks away, on Abingdon road, is dirty and neglected and steals your money. Avoid it.

Room tip: Try to gret a room away from Abingdon Road.

Stayed here for one night Saturday 3rd December firstly, the owner was very friendly and helpful, we arrived on the Saturday morning and asked if we could park the car until check in later that day, no problem, gave us a map showed us which way to go etc.

The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, bath/shower gel etc.

Breakfast was welcoming with a good hot selection (kippers, English breakfast, poached eggs etc) as well as juices, cereal, fresh fruit and mince pies lol !!

Yes the place has got the 80's 90's look but I would not say shabby and there are signs on the stairs about refurbishment started in this area.

Location good, 10/15 minute straight walk into centre of town.

Perfectly pleasant stay especially for the price, cannot understand overly negative reviews.

My sister-in-law and I had a short break, while her Mum is in respite care. We are on a limited budget, needing an interesting city, and budget accommodation. This hotel had prices that enabled us to have an extra day compared to other venues, as Oxford is an expensive city. It was a 15 minute, easy, flat walk into town. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, if a little dated as we expected due to the price. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful, advising on where to go, what to see, where to eat, and when to book a table (this weekend parents collect students for the university holidays so everywhere was busy). The wifi was non-functioning, until I logged on while standing at the reception desk where the router is, and then worked perfectly in my room for the next 4 days of our stay. The breakfasts were plentiful, with copious choice. Perfect for our circumstances.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Only a 20 minute walk into the centre of Oxford. Room was clean and quiet overlooking the car park. Plenty of room to park and was able to leave car after check out while we went for a last walk around Oxford. Full breakfast was also included in the price. Would stay here again when visiting Oxford.

Near walking proximity to the city centre, hence didn't have to move the car, which is a bonus and clean room. Unfortunately they are the only good points. The hotel is very tired with dated décor and lacklustre décor in the rooms. Hosts were polite and friendly. On the two nights I stayed the bar was closed for both, so no bedtime drink. Breakfast was quite poor. The full English was only really basic with what I suspect to be value produce and not locally sourced. The bread was thin and cheap and we were not offered a choice of white or brown. Only one egg on each breakfast and items missing from the cooked breakfast today.

Room tip: Good parking
