Enjoyed our 3 night stay in a decent sized bedroom with large bed and quality bedding. Clean room and ensuite. 2 ceiling spotlights needed replacing which were when reported. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Staff were friendly. Would definitely like to return if visiting Burford again. Would have given a rating of 5 but unfortunately the bar man was so busy dealing with other things we and others had to wait to be served on more than one occasion

Stayed here for a wedding for my best mate.

Having a wedding here was awesome. Definitely a great venue. The food was spectacular and the service was very good.

The rooms are quite pricey but they are very nice and well equipped and there is ample parking.

The hotel and grounds are very pretty and great for a function such as a wedding. Tons of character and charm.

Breakfast was excellent too with a wide choice.

My partner recently booked us a night here whilst we were travelling through the Cotswolds. Overall the hotel is lovely and has so much potential to be excellent, but it is let down by the poor service. Our room was lovely with just a few very very minor niggles (make up mirror broken and hanging by a thread and therefore not useable); the hotel setting and common areas are lovely.
On arrival we were asked by the receptionist if we wanted to book dinner. We replied not and she said - you can always go to the bar and eat and you don't have to book. After a walk around the beautiful High Street and a look at the other food/drink options we decided to return to the hotel, anticipating a lovely cosy evening by the fire with a bottle of wine and some food. Got to the bar area and chose a table, were informed by the lone bartender in a fairly abrupt manner that if we wanted food the kitchen was very busy and it would be at least a 20 minute wait (for food). We told him this was ok as we were happy to have drinks and wait for food; we then tried to order drinks (beers + bottle of wine). Waited over half an hour to try and order said drinks (my partner STOOD at the bar 1. waiting for the bartender 2. then waiting while he served a very petulant customer 3. then was ignored by said bartender in favour of another man who had recently appeared also to place an order. Very disappointing not to even be acknowledged by the bartender. At this point we decided to go elsewhere and my partner told the bartender as we were leaving that we were disappointed - received a very rude reply. We are quiet people, we don't like to make a fuss and we would not usually leave an establishment but this was unacceptable. So we made our way back to the High Street and spent our +GBP100 somewhere else where the service was friendly.
Breakfast in the morning was disappointing as well. Greeted on arrival by a waitress and brought tea and toast but then ignored until my partner again had to ask someone to take our food order - by which time the toast was ice cold. Not a huge problem but again disappointing to be ignored. The petulant lady from the night before was sat at the table near ours and was constantly fawned upon by 2 wait staff. Maybe one has to be loud and rude to be served - not sure.... We don't want to be fawned upon but we just wanted people to take our order in both the bar and the restaurant!
So in summary - a lovely property but let down by poor service.

I recently had my wedding at the Baytree and can not recommend them enough. They did a fantastic job leading up to the big day, but were also so attentive and helpful at the wedding. All my guests were very impressed! The food was fabulous, the whole team were perfect, and the venue is absolutely stunning. I could not have asked for a more perfect day. Thank you xxx If I could give more stars i would!

We visited as part of a wedding party; I was accompanied by my mother and six month old son. Although the venue was very beautiful for a wedding, we did not find it very family friendly. We were provided the bare minimum of a cot in our room. The venue is hard to move around with a buggy, there are no accessible access points without steps including into the ground floor rooms. We were provided a high chair for the wedding breakfast which was inappropriate for a younger child, bordering on dangerous for my son as it didn’t have a safe harness. When we arrived for breakfast there were no high chairs available at all and my son sat in his buggy. We then had a 45 minute wait to even order any breakfast which was unhelpful with a young baby who hadn’t even been provided anywhere to sit! This venue could do better.
