Tucked away in the little village of Burton Joyce, we stayed in the Purple Poppy Cottage for a single night in April 2015.
It is needless to say that you will struggle to find a more unique place to stay. From the little mouse-house (complete with mini-Tiffany lamp) tucked into the stair-case, to the (fully functional) disco ball suspended above the kitchen sink, there is something for everyone. These little touches don't stop at the aesthetic; underfloor heating, a wood-fired stove and lovely soft beds make for a very comfortable experience.
Angela, the owner, is very attentive, even bringing fresh eggs for breakfast!
As a base from which to sample the delights of Nottinghamshire, you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere nicer or more unique than the Purple Poppy Cottage.
