“Easy Access to Nottingham City Centre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2012

Pretty much an okay hotel with good access to the centre of Nottingham. Asked for a quiet room which seemed to work (mostly). Staff pleasant and friendly. No real issues. Parking was next door but limited - we had booked. Stayed one night with No3 son to visit No1 son at the University. Worthwhile with the early booking discount but probably wouldn't think it was value for money at the full rate. Interestingly I booked as the "Days Hotel" but the day before we arrived they sent notification it was now a Ramada Hotel. I wonder if things will change? Bedroom clean, comfortable and quiet (apart from excited son) - there was some noise as revellers returned late at night but that's just normally inconsiderate behaviour in a city hotel! Breakfast okay but it's a shame these hotels, in leading tourist places, insist on providing the cheapest foodstuff of when there is so much good quality British fare, at reasonable prices, to impress the tourists.

We went to a gig at Rock City, which is literally just around the corner from this hotel, so the location was absolutely perfect for us. Having said that, it’s ideally placed as it’s only about a five minute walk to the centre of Nottingham, and about ten minutes away from the castle. There’s also a tramstop extremely close by if you’re planning on travelling further afield.

Both the room itself and the bathroom were very clean and spacious, and the bed was HUGE…! The buffet breakfast was lovely too, with plenty to choose from. There was the obligatory full English of course, but also toast, croissants, and pastries. There was a good range of cereals and fresh fruit available too, as well as yoghurt, cheese, & a good choice of preserves.

We paid around £4 for a taxi from the train station to this hotel, but just a word of warning that the taxi driver did seem to have trouble finding the place as it’s recently changed its name. He was quite puzzled when we asked for the Ramada, so just be aware that most of them still know it by its old name of ‘Days’ hotel!

Room Tip: WiFi doesn't seem to reach above the third floor.

Good location, only 5 mins walk from where the airport bus dropped us off and very central to all the shops, bars etc. The rooms are pretty much what you expect from a 3* city centre hotel. Decent sized, fairly basic, but warm and clean. Bed and bedding starting to seem a bit old and tired, but comfortable enough and again clean. The shower was excellent, strong and plenty of instant hot water. Buffet breakfast was £6.50 per person if we booked it in the hotel the previous evening, and is served until 11am on weekends which is good. We ate here on the Saturday morning but it was a bit disappointing really. There are plenty of places within just a couple of minutes walk serving breakfast for a similar price, so these might be a btter option. Fat Cats did a great deal on 2 full breakfasts for £10 on the sunday morning! Staff were very helpful and we'd no problems with noise. We'd be happy to stay here again.

Stayed for 1 night at the end of January and have gotta say for the price is was really good! Had everything you needed, big bed, nice shower. Is in an excellent location, right in the centre! Arrived over 90 minutes early and they had our room ready in 5 minutes! If I visit nottingham again then i'll be staying here!

All staff that we met were extremely friendly. The rooms were clean and suitable for our stay. The rate which included breakfast was very good for a city hotel.
