We went for a weekend to Hexham to visit Roman artifacts. This B&B looked good online and we were attracted enough by the website to book. It is a large Victorian house up its own drive on the outskirts of the town. Certainly very impressive on arrival! The only slight disadvantage may be that it is a 'wee' walk into the town down a rather dark busy road. Fine in Summer but not so attractive out of season when weather cold & damp! Alas, what a wonderful place. We received a very warm friendly welcome from the owner on arrival. The interior is breathtaking with lots of wood panelling and original features. There are 2 rooms let out; a double and a twin. The rooms are huge and beautifully decorated with very nice en-suite facilities. The bed was generous and heavenly with feather down duvet. Very nice breakfast with plenty choice. Would definately go back and recommend it to others.
