The cafe at Asda @YorksMonksCross is poorly run and best avoided. I *believe* it is now run by large catering organisation Compass on behalf of Asda. Asda need to intervene, the place is at best untidy but at worse dirty (uncleaned surfaces, tables not cleared (despite being quiet) floor filthy under tables. They run out of everything often (how they are selling it I don't know) Spent plates full of food littered everywhere convey how little people have enjoyed it, I've personally not eaten a single thing there I have enjoyed. It's not especially cheap either. You cannot pay contactless as despite having the facility they always say "it crashes the till". The till was open with one staff member questioning another over piles of coins laid about outside the till - odd practices... The supermarket and brand are let down by this facility and need to take it to task.
